I really want to see The Prestige and Interstellar.

For personally my top 5 of his in order are:

1. The dark knight
2. The dark knight rises
3. Interstellar
4. Batman begins
5. Inception

But I was also in my teens or early 20s when I saw the prestige and memento so I probably didn’t grasp them fully. I should rewatch.

Memento is ok. It is interesting because of the concept but kind of overrated. The Batman movies and Inception are all really good obviously.

As great as that trilogy was and as much as I like Nolan, it’s still behind LotR for me. What’s your favorite trilogy?

Well, I'm a LotR nerd so it is always going to be that for me. I was a huge fan of the books (and even some of the extended stuff) long before the movies. I had a pretty huge and nerdy collection of Tolkien stuff for a while. The Hobbit was a disaster though IMO (as a movie trilogy).

After that I'm not sure. The Sergio Leone trilogy may take it for me. I love the Aliens stuff as well so even though that is more than a trilogy I like it more than the Batman movies. They were very good though.

You excited about the amazon Aragorn series?

Is it certain to focus on him? I know that was the rumor but I never heard for sure. I would watch it. I'm bad about starting shows and not finishing though. Currently I'm somewhere in the middle of watching Carnivale, Preacher, Taboo, The Strain, Terror, and Mr. Mercedes.

Honestly, after the LotR stuff it is just hard to imagine anything in that universe topping that. I didn't love a few of the changes they made (though most I didn't mind) but it was just so good.

Pretty hard to argue with Kubrick. Everything he made was fantastic. And he was as versatile as anyone.

The sheer volume of quality movies Hitchcock made is ridiculous.

Tarantino can kiss my ass.

Memento is a classic.

1. Memento
2. Following
3. Dunkirk
4. Inception
5. Prestige

Coen Bros
Raising Arizona
Millers Crossing
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Barton Fink
No Country for Old Men
Blood Simple
Big Lebowski
True Grit
Fargo
Hudsucker Proxy
Bad Santa
Burn After Reading

I love that their catalog is almost 50/50 comedy and (purposeful) ultraviolence. Some have both.

I find not many people are as familiar with Miller's Crossing as some of their other stuff, which is understandable, as it's from the late '80s. It's really underrated. It's about Boston Irish mobsters in the '30s. It's the first thing I remember seeing Gabriel Byrne or John Turturro in. I highly recommend it.

I thought about putting the Coen brothers but I know you either love it or don't get it when it comes to their stuff. I think they are great. I started watching Miller's Crossing years ago and then right in the middle it's time ran out on NF so never got to finish it.

That movie taught me how to shave.

Fincher is really good, not the GOAT, but really good.

Yeah...Scorsese and Spielberg are the top two, with Kubrick and Kurosawa and at the next level. Fincher, Tarantino, Coens, all awesome. Coppola, too.

Goodfellas
Taxi Driver
Wolf Of Wall St
The Departed
Gangs Of New York
Casino
Raging Bull

That’s quite a list

Yep, and there was time when everything Scorsese touched turned to gold. But, that time ended over a decade ago. The last 15 years of his career have been spotty compared to the early part of his career.

Also I wouldn't put Wolf of Wall Street or Gangs of NY anywhere near those other movies you listed.

Casino and Goodfellas are my favs mainly because of Joe Pesci.

Miller's Crossing might be my favorite of theirs. Well, favorite serious movie. It's pretty hard to beat Lebowski.

Hard to argue against most of these names. I’ll just throw a European name out there. Pedro Almodovar. He’s not my favorite, but if you’re a movie buff and want to see something different, his movies are certainly interesting. He’s probably my wife’s favorite.

I love Horror movies so it’s Stephen King for me! He’s done a list of classics such as...

The Goonies
Pet Sematary
Stand By Me
The Green Mile
Shawshank Redemption
IT

Dude is awesome!

Christopher Nolan is bad ass too!
