I hope they play LSU in NCAAT...we might see a 10OT game which gets cancelled because all the refs are too tired to keep working the game.

They hit prayer after prayer vs VT. Hamilton still isn't a good coach imo but his players are super clutch and their athleticism would give a team like Gonzaga nightmares.

Yea, reddish sticking it up their ass at the buzzer was so lucky RollLaugh
Nah that was just terrible defense by them on the inbounds.

Have you seen the rest of their games? They've won 4 OT games this year including LSU who I forgot they played.

**** the Chokies though
Nickeil-Alexander Walker is a beast. I plan to keep betting on the Hokies in the tournament because I think they're a fringe top 10 team and Vegas odds and public perception doesn't reflect that.

He's really good. Blackshear is also very underrated for them. Buzz has yet to win a NCAA tourney game at VT so we'll see what happens. I think they get a 5 seed and might get matched up with a team like Murray State.

FSU fan here, agree with your assessment. He's assembled a good bunch of studs, with not particularly high hoops IQ. Stan Jones is our longtime O coach, offense has always been helter skelter and painful to watch. Ham coaches the D, which is pretty sticky, a lot of that can be attributed to our length. Still, his in game coaching sucks{see last second, extremely wide open Duke 3}. We could easily make another deep run in the dance, simply because of the quality of players, the depth, and the difficulty of the opposition to draw up a game plan on short notice. We had a good year in the ACC, but lost all three games against the big three.

But next year in preseason or non conference we will have to hear about what a great coach he is... Again.

I agree with this.

Are they the basketball version of South Carolina?

Well VT hasn’t won a tournament game since 2007 and only have 6 tourney wins all time so....no

Today perfectly summarized what it’s like to be a VT b-ball fan. Miss open shots all day, watch another team hit ridiculous shots all day, and blow the game. You guys will steamroll FSU.

That being said, our history (or complete lack thereof) has nothing to do with this year. If we get Robinson healthy next week we are not a team you want to see.

I know all of that. It’s just funny how many VT fans tell me that UVA can’t win it all because we never have. Well, that same logic doesn’t bode well for VT in the postseason.

Talking to most VT fans about basketball is a mistake.

We will see what happens. We would have had to beat you to get off the 4/5 line so at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter. We just need to get healthy.

You guys did a great job on outlaw both games. Would have been interesting to see if you stuck to that strategy if our PG was playing. You let Bede drive all game which was a great move considering he’s basically handicapped offensively.

Yes but they aren’t even remotely hoping for a Final4.

Congrats. You have a better program than VT.

Only luck can explain it since according to ACC media FSU doesn’t have any players on first, second or third team ACC teams. As a matter of fact, after having the 4th best ACC record in the ACC in the past 5 years, FSU has had only one player make any all conference team. Only other team with similar stature in ACC is Wake. So in 2019 FSU went a school record 13-5 and beat big-10 champs Purdue and SEC champs LSU. So if we don’t have any good players according to ACC media we must have a really good coach especially since FSU only has 2 top 100 recruits on its roster, which is 14th of 16th in the confernce. That would be wrong. Hamilton finished 4th in the confernce by ACC media behind coaches with rosters filled with All-ACC talent (compared to zero for FSU) and with 4 to 5 times the amount of top 100 recruits. So it must be luck. Only that makes sense

Could have something to do with the fact that your coach limits player minutes to go 10 deep. Voters are clueless so they vote on stats. He also made sure Kabengele got 6th man of the year. Any other coach in the conference starts him

Nailed it. Not unusual to have eleven players score points, surprised Polite didn't play today.

We already beat LSU. Only took us 1 OT.

Hamilton is far and away the best close game coach in the country.
