For all us losers whose teams aren't playing anymore... (KenPom)

His list sucks because he didn’t seem to factor in freshman

Oregon and LSU will be top 10 candidates

Can't buy Maryland being that great of a team yet. Missed the tourney in an awful B1G, really weren't even close.
I get they get their forward Jackson back and have a couple solid frosh. But top 10?

Kansas at number 1...damn. MSU plays them in the Champions Classic next year.

Once Jaren Jackson announces he's coming back for MSU, we will shoot up into top 5sih.

Nevada goes from 7 seed to 7th in the nation, DAMN. Must return the whole team

Pretty much. Everyone except Kendall Stephens should be back. Plus they'll have two impact-transfers available for next season.

Doesn't Tennessee return every rotation player next season?? Seems like they should be Top 5 if everyone is back.

Yes we return everyone basically and are going hard after freshman 4 Star Akinjo

lol that's bad. So Tennessee is 13th in KenPom this year, returns essentially the whole team, and he still doesn't have them in the top 10.

Assuming everyone in the Top 40 leaves is a fairly large assumption. Ken’s algos always do some pretty wonky stuff in his preseason metrics too.

I don’t hate the list, but I wouldn’t put much stock in it.

Yeah I was pissed by that ESPN surely has us there not to mention the SEC is weaker and we lost to Loyola by 1 we win that we probably go final 4

Our best rim protector was sat for the game

Not sure how KU could be #1 if he's not factoring in freshmen.

Although that's pretty incredible if he's got an algorithm to predict how high schoolers will perform in college next season. RollLaugh

Could be applying the stats that the transfers had at Cal and Memphis. Don’t know though.

Need to see who stays and goes for KU. Before the tournament I felt everyone was coming back with Doke and Newman the only small question marks. Now with the Final Four run more likely to see guys who pro who are not ready like Vick and Doke.

Even worse case scenario KU loses their entire starting 5. They will send out a starting lineup of Dotson, Grimes, Garrett, DLawson, and De Sousa. KU gonna have a serious amount of talent next year but it will need to gel and gain experience.

If everyone in DX's top 40 leave, Duke is stupidly high. They have a point guard, 3 good SF's who can't shoot/are streaky and a shitty big man in Bolden. I'm sure they'll get Trent to come back, Carey to reclassify and some other 5* out of nowhere, though.

Worst case scenerio for KU IMO

Udoka Azubuike 17-18 stats 13 ppg 7 rpg 1.8 BPG
Dedric Lawson 16-17 stats 19 ppg 10 rpg 2 BPG
KJ Lawson 16-17 stats 12.3 ppg 8.1 RPG
Quentin Grimes 5 star freshman 10th ranked nationally Rivals
Devon Dotson 5 Star Freshman 17th ranked Nationally Rivals

Bench
Charlie Moore 16-17 state 12.2 PPG 3.5 APG
Marcus Garrett 17-18 stats 4.3 ppg 3.4 rpg
Mitch Lightfoot 3.9 ppg 3.1 rpg
Silvio De Sousa 3.8 ppg 3.5 RPG
David McCormack 4 Star Center 28th ranked nationally.
Sam Cunliffe 17-18 stats 2 ppg

Azabuike should be back, and he'll be a monster.

Mock drafts I've seen have him as a second rounder in 2019, and nowhere near being drafted in 2018.

Side note: They have Konate at 14th overall in 2019. I was surprised by that.

I had a “where did K touch you?” Post written out, but I’m not sure how much I disagree with this.

Bolden will be serviceable if he’s back, though, and O’Connell and his level of development will impact things

I said UK was stupid overrated last year too. You guys will be better than UK because your freshman are better, but returning essentially nobody to a class that isn't real balanced is bad news.

Nick Richards

Quade Green

Good lineup.

Nova is a bit high imo losing Brunson and bridges hurts

I'm a little surprised UT didn't make it considering they return everyone except for Daniel, who really wasn't a huge factor towards the end of the year.

C U.Azubuike / D.McCormack
F D.Lawson / S.DeSousa / L.Vick / K.Lawson / M.Lightfoot
G C.Moore / M.Newman / M.Garrett / R.Langford / Q.Grimes / D.Dotson

imo, would be best case (also highly unlikely)..
That team would kick so much ass, it’s silly to imagine.

Big 12 teams couldn't stop the streak this year (which was the year to do it). We could win another 4-5 in a row without breaking a sweat.

If you shoot at the King, you better not miss.

This is a weird list, in this case wagner would be returning to um and we will be frighteningly good if he does. Yet we are not listed.
