Can anyone disprove this?

A thread on RR reads;

ESPN ran a graphic last night that showed that "since 1996", Coach K has 12 Elite Eights, and Izzo and Self are tied at #2 with 10.

It was a pretty random era criteria to set, and it wasn't even true, since Cal has eleven Elite Eights in that span (plus a period between 1997 and 2000 where he wasn't even coaching college basketball).

Here's reality:

Since 2006, Cal has TEN Elite Eights: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019.

Since 2006, Izzo has FIVE Elite Eights: 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015, 2019.

Since 2006, Coach K has FIVE Elite Eights: 2010, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019.

Since 2006, Mark Few has THREE Elite Eights: 2015, 2017, 2019.

Since 2006, Bill Self has SEVEN Elite Eights: 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018.

Since 2006, Roy Williamshas SEVEN Elite Eights: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017.

For a guy who keeps rolling 'em out there, Cal sure does get lucky advancing in these tournaments.

I'm pretty sure I've made fun of Dukes Williams for not knowing wtf he talks about . MULTIPLE TIMES.

ie duke has beat unc 8 of the last 6 times. I'd love to go on.

They have had a lot of inaccurate stats this year that make Duke look better than they are, which makes no sense because they have been a great program.

Doesn’t Cal’s history have the 1996 and 2008 teams vacated from the record books? I mean I still say he made it, just like I say 2013 Louisville are still the national champions, but maybe ESPN took that into account?

Here is the ONLY Elite 8 stat that matters, since some fanbase prefer ALL TIME STATS ONLY:

K has certainly had more successful career overall than Cal, only a fool would argue that.

BUUUUUT, the ONLY Elite 8 stat that really matters is that UK has the more Elite 8's than any program in history. I think we have like 38.

elite 8s when you only had to win a game or two don't really pull as much punch. there is a reason we generally make a distinction at when round of 64 started and in that time frame K and duke are without peers.

Kentucky has certainly had a more successful run overall in the NCAA Tournament than Duke, only a fool would argue that.

Since the field expanded to 64, UK still has more Elite 8's than Duke. Care to try again?

i guess the question is: are we talking officially from the NCAA
i got no clue if they are or not

i will say this, none of the above should count unless you count every game from every team that has ever been vacated
you just can't pick and choose which teams should get to count their vacated wins, regardless if they were vacated for cheating, a player getting money from an agent or a kid's SAT getting invalidated
