Can anyone disprove this?
A thread on RR reads;
ESPN ran a graphic last night that showed that "since 1996", Coach K has 12 Elite Eights, and Izzo and Self are tied at #2 with 10.
It was a pretty random era criteria to set, and it wasn't even true, since Cal has eleven Elite Eights in that span (plus a period between 1997 and 2000 where he wasn't even coaching college basketball).
Here's reality:
Since 2006, Cal has TEN Elite Eights: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019.
Since 2006, Izzo has FIVE Elite Eights: 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015, 2019.
Since 2006, Coach K has FIVE Elite Eights: 2010, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019.
Since 2006, Mark Few has THREE Elite Eights: 2015, 2017, 2019.
Since 2006, Bill Self has SEVEN Elite Eights: 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018.
Since 2006, Roy Williamshas SEVEN Elite Eights: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017.
For a guy who keeps rolling 'em out there, Cal sure does get lucky advancing in these tournaments.
