Don't care. How can we hear different things?

It reminds me of refs calls. One group of people see it one way, the other another way.

I can hear either. If I make myself think about one, that’s the one I’ll hear. I heard yanny the first 3 times, then laurel since

Why is this a thing. To me I'm not sure its either. Sounds like a computer made up a sound.

I heard both.

This a.m. I came to work and my coworker played it from across the room
- I heard Yanny (clear as day)
Then, I was on Twitter and I played the sound and it was clearly Laurel.

They say both, it's Yanny at a higher pitch and Laurel at a lower pitch spoken at the same time.
From across the room, I couldn't hear the lower pitch.. only the shrill high pitch.

I would give you a scientific explanation but I am a conservative, so I can't believe in science. So I'll just say God decides what you hear.

Kind of. All about the level of the bass apparently, similar to 1992.

People can hear different frequency ranges. YouTube frequency test and try it out.

When the pitch and/or bass levels are changed, it sounds like either. When I heard it on tv today, it was clearly Yanny. When I heard it on my laptop, it was clearly Laurel. My tv (soundbar and subwoofer) obviously processes the sound differently than my laptop.

It's amazing if you listen to a song for 10 years on the radio. Now buy $10 earphones/earbuds/or whatever you call them and you will hear sounds you didn't know were in the song.

Same source ppl hear it different.

It's laurel. But it's a frequency based thing on what you hear personally. This has been discussed like 5 times on sports radio today. I have heard it 5 times today thru computer speakers , Sonos Soundbar , and radio in my Tundra. Heard laurel everytime

It's Yammy.

Listened and it says yanny. Will not keep listening until I hear laurel because once that blue dress changed to gold, and I could never see it as blue again, i was mindf***ed for about 6 hours.

So the wife and I both hear different things. Btw, it's Yammy. To settle it, we took it to a local plant nursery and I asked if they had any . . . (then pushed play). They had no clue what I was looking for.

Then I said "Do You have any Laurel?" Their reply? "Greenhouse B". 4/4 people.

It's Yammy with m's.

I don't hear any L's or r's.
This is correct.
Nobody can say Laurel plainly and get Yammy out of it. But someone can say Yammy, and never once confuse it with Laurel. Say Yammy twice to your friends, then ask how many times they heard you say Yammy. If they say twice, Yammy is the correct answer. Then say Laurel twice, then ask them how many times they heard Yammy. Likely none.

Boom - Settled. Yammy.
