Anyone know how they can calculate a score for these guys based on the constant one and done transition each year. Even if there is a formula it has to have less validity than ours for example. Am I missing something here? Go Green and Happy Mothers Day to all Spartan Moms!!!!

A player leaving early for the NBA does not affect a team's APR score as long as that player leaves the school in good academic standing.

If the player ditches before school is over and fails his remaining classes, that would be a big hit. But Cal doesn't allow that.

Kentucky this season posted a PERFECT APR score of 1,000 for a record 5TH straight season.

Each year, the NCAA tracks the classroom performance of student-athletes on every Division I team through the annual scorecard of academic achievement, known as APR. The score measures eligibility and retention each semester or quarter and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport.

The most recent APRs are multi-year rates based on scores from the 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 academic years. Beginning with 2012-13 championships, teams were required to post a minimum 900 four-year average APR or a 930 average over the most recent two years to be eligible to participate. For 2014-15 championships, teams were required to earn a 930 four-year average APR or a 940 average over the most recent two years to participate in championships. Beginning in 2015-16, teams must earn a four-year APR of 930 to compete in championships.

I would assume it would be easier with freshman actually. So it seems reasonable they would have good APRs. I don't think there is shady stuff going on to get them there.

fwiw UK's is a perfect 1000 and Duke's is 957. Other notables who uses OAD are, KU with 984 and UNC with 990.

All well above the required 930 to compete in championships. Duke was on the verge last year with a 936, but jumped quite a bit since then. Since you're a MSU fan, theirs were also a perfect 1000.

So excited that those classes in Exploratory Studies in Agriculture have paid off.... congratulations!!!!!!

Honestly, who cares about APR unless yours is bad enough to prevent you from playing in the post season? I cheer for PPG, not GPA.

I don't think anyone does. It's just the off season and they just released the updated scores so it's news.

When I watch Duke, I don't care about their basketball skills. I am chanting "APR! APR! APR!

Every time Zion dunked, I was like HELL YEAH, Zion! Get that education. He's going to make a lot of money with his Duke degree.
Aren’t you just pointing out how stupid our society has become? That we value basketball more than education...(not to mention football, soccer, or baseball, etc.)
