Before some little bitch goes off about how much of this stuff doesn't matter ... it's just for fun. ;)

Notes
- Kansas and Kentucky were the only programs to lead their conference in every single category. North Carolina led all but four categories, with Syracuse having the fewest losing seasons and Duke leading in 30-win seasons, "protected" NCAAT seeds and ACC Tournament championships.
- Even though Kansas is the clear-cut top of the pack, the Big XII has a lot more historical parity than one might initially assume. Six of the remaining nine schools were in second place for at least one category.
- Speaking of parity ... the Big Ten has a shitload of it! Seven different schools led at least one category, and six of those seven led multiple categories. There does seem to be a pretty hard historical dropoff after Indiana, MSU, OSU, Illinois, Michigan, Maryland, Purdue and Wisconsin.
- Villanova really cemented itself among the all-time elite within the last decade. If I had made this list in 2010 or so, the Big East would have looked a lot more even ... but 'Nova has really separated itself from the pack, even UConn!

Lastly, my biggest surprises...
- KSU having, by far, the second most Sweet Sixteens in the Big XII with 18. The next closest is Oklahoma and Oklahoma State with 14.
- Texas having the second best winning percentage in the Big XII.
- Alabama having the second most weeks in the AP Top 25 in the SEC. Arkansas was second in most categories, but 'Bama has spent a full 35 more weeks ranked.
- St. John's having the second most 20-win seasons in the Big East (41).
- Oregon having the second most Pac-12 Tournament titles and appearances.

Very interesting stuff. It’s interesting to see the breakdown of the fluke stats like championships and final fours and how they compare to the more comprehensive stats like 30-win seasons which incorporate a full body of work.

Yeah, I literally LOL’d that Oregon has the “second most National Championships” in the Pac-12 because of a good season two lifetimes ago.

- Texas having the second best winning percentage in the Big XII.

They have played for a while and beat people up back in the day but don't have a ton of success in the tournament. Rick Barnes helped them out a ton in the modern era.

Final Fours (3) - 1943, 1947, 2003
Elite Eight (7) - 1939, 1943, 1947, 1990, 2003, 2006, 2008
Sweet 16 (10) - 1960, 1963, 1972, 1990, 1997, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008
* Tom Penders (1988-1998) and Rick Barnes (1998-2015)

Texas suffered only one losing season from 1912 to 1950, achieving a winning percentage of .703 during that span, reaching two Final Fours and one Elite Eight during the first decade of the NCAA Tournament, and receiving retroactive recognition as the 1933 national champion from the Premo-Porretta Power Poll; from 1951 to 1988, the Longhorns finished with losing records 14 times, recorded a winning percentage of .522, and participated in the expanded Tournament only five times.

The program rose to its highest level of prominence under the direction of former head coach Rick Barnes (1998–2015). Barnes guided Texas to 16 NCAA Tournament appearances in his 17 seasons with the program, including a school-record 14 consecutive appearances (1999–2012), as well as fifteen 20-win seasons overall and a school-best 13 consecutive 20-win seasons (2000–12).

Villanova has 7 FF, not 6. 1939, 1971, 1985, 2009, 2016, 2018, 2022.
7 played, with 6 still recognized by the NCAA.

I personally don’t like “vacating” of seasons as a punishment. We saw those events happen and in most of those cases the majority of players were not guilty of any infractions.

The NCAA should not reward cheating. And lately they seemed to have stopped all charges of cheating on several schools that it seems were cheating big time.

Lastly, my biggest surprises...
- KSU having, by far, the second most Sweet Sixteens in the Big XII with 18. The next closest is Oklahoma and Oklahoma State with 14.
Look at my signature. Shows that KU and KState were neck and neck basketball programs

I thought this would be interesting to look at ... pretty much came up with every all-time college basketball stat I could think of that was even remotely interesting and found the top two in each conference for that category:

Second in Elite 8’s and sweet 16’s baby!!!

Lol like cal and uk recruiting better than anyone ever with a bagman sitting behind the bench lmao

Somehow you manage to be behind historically in that too, lil bro. 🤣
Since WW2 no. and you have like 4 wins in the past 30 years against us.

Ya'll are so bad we replaced you with Iowa St for rivalry weekend.

There are alot of highschool freshman that have never seen KU beat Kstate.
