FSU is perplexing. One game I think they will win the national title and the next I think a 13 seed will beat them.
Something happened to Rayquan Evans. Not sure what it is, but he’s totally disappeared. He’s essentially unplayable now. Maybe a personal issue. Who knows.
Anyhoo, it leaves us without a real PG. Barnes and Gray are both solid facilitators but they aren’t PGs. And playing games without a PG is challenging.
We turned the ball over on 36% of our possessions and still scored over a point per possession. That’s hard to do.
ACC is so weak this year that the likes of Georgia Tech are the tournament champions.

A lot of very solid teams, no top tier teams. But I still think 2 or 3 make the second weekend. Matchup matter, of course, but UVA, UNC, FSU, GT, and Cuse (because of the zone) all feel like they can rip off two straight without having to play out of their minds.
I definitely agree. All of those teams present some unique matchup problems for opposing teams, particularly those who have not spent an entire season being able to scout those teams. I would not be surprised if we got 2 or 3 teams in the Sweet 16. Still, those are pretty watered down expectations for the ACC.

he said something about he couldn’t hire an assistant that likes to play golf but I’m not quite sure if it’s bc he hates golf or he was alluding to the belief that if he did hire one who played golf, they’d just play golf together all the time instead of working, but idk man he’s got some of the most ridiculous quotes. the sad thing is if his dumbass wasn’t trying to be so ahead of the curve with his preseason “contact-less” practices they likely don’t get stomped those first teo games against total scrubs and might be like top 20 right now.
Wright Devoe and alvarodo are a helluva trio. And they have some really nice wins.
maybe them peaking now will sneak us into the tourney since we beat em in our only head to head.
gonna be hard to swallow if pitino gets to dance and we don’t, although our resume is pretty pitiful. But damn I feel like it’s just as good as VT who we also beat. It doesn’t much matter we ain’t winning a game unless somehow we draw a matchup with another team whose tallest player is 6”8

At the time, I thought our loss to GT was a super bad loss. Now it turns out UL and UNC were a worse loss.

👀 add Clemson to that list as well I would say. We have beaten all those teams listed atleast once with UVA being the exception. I think depending on the matchup we could see the second weekend, and also what teams shows up since one game we look good and the next drop the ball.
That’s true. It’s crazy how much expectations for each team can change so drastically throughout the year. Before the season I would have assumed Kentucky would be a decent win.
