Wow. Everybody picked New Mexico over Boise State? New Mexico was KenPom #45, while Boise was #24. Game came right down to the end...
A lot going on here in this play. New Mexico's Mashburn Jr (#5) got a double screen from House (#10) and Udeze (#24). Boise's Rice (#12) rotates over to guard Mashburn as he sees in the periphery that Mashburn's open. Boise's Agbo (#11) tries to catch up to Mashburn Jr by going in between Udeze and his own teammate Degenhart. Udeze closes the elevator and stops Agbo from catching up to Mashburn Jr. In the process of that, Agbo inadvertently screens his own teammate, Degenhart, who has guarding Udeze... Udeze is now free for the layup at the rim.... lastly, Naje Smith, #23 for Boise, probably could have contested Udeze's shot if he didn't try to go for the swipe/steal. That's a lot of action for two seconds.
