It doesn't appear UK or IU need each other anymore. :(

It was rumored that IU and Zona were going to start a series in 19-20 after the Louisville series is up. I'd be pretty surprised if that was still in the works, so that could open up the UK series.

The B1G moving to 20 conference games this coming season has thrown a wrench into the OOC schedule.

Kentucky (Champions Classic)
Texas Tech (MSG)
ACC/Big 10 Challenge. Maybe Michigan State or Maryland on the road
St.John's (Cameron Indoor)

3 games between Arizona, Auburn, Gonzaga, Illinois, Iowa State, San Diego State, Xavier (Zags and Auburn could be top 10)

Interesting note on FSU/Indiana. Don't think we have ever played in the challenge. I had heard Purdue or Ohio State would be more likely for FSU, but it definitely will be an FSU home game so Indiana could work.

I don't know what OU will be like without Trae Young, but that's a really solid looking tourney.

Y'all not doing orange bowl classic this year?

For FSU:

UF

Big 10 team at home

Advocare Tourney in Orlando (other teams include Villanova, LSU, Oklahoma State, and College of Charleston)

Orange Bowl Classic game in Miami (likely power opponent but I've heard we've been turned down by a couple after the elite 8 run...)

Rumbles of UConn at a neutral site in northeast, but not confirmed

Probably a bunch of low/mid majors after that.

Heels trying to start 0-1 I see.

For me....I'm drinking a lot. Playing golf as much as possible...and likely poorly. And drinking some more.

Ditto. Much nicer drive for me than Atlanta or Chicago was.

First game of the year vs Kansas. Then Vegas Invitational with UCLA, UNC and Texas. Then Florida and ACC challenge. Should be interesting.

It's not bad. The highlights as I see them.

-Two legit away games. Wofford will be solid if Magee comes back. Elon probably won't be.

-5 legit P5 teams if you include Gonzaga (which is better than most).

-2 Top Ten teams (possibly 3).

-4 Ranked teams with three being at neutral sites.

-Then some of the weak games are teams like Davidson and Harvard, which are better than a lot of teams will play for their 3rd and 4th easiest home OOC game.

None of that includes the Big Ten team they will draw in the challenge.

After further examination, I stand corrected. Schedule is legit.

For WVU:

Florida in the Jimmy V Classic
Kentucky (probably in the Big 12/SEC challenge)
Pitt
Wake (tourney in Myrtle Beach.... I think)
Rhode Island
Buffalo
Valpo

I want to say we're in a tourney where we could play Notre Dame too.

We were supposed to play Indiana at MSG, but they backed out.

Hawks
Tourney that has Oregon, Syracuse and UConn
ACC/BT Challenge home game
BE/BT Challenge away game
ISU home game
UNI N B4 Challenge
the rest of the schedule has not been released.
will be curious as to who the Tourney Committee picks to play Iowa both home games.
so 8 games are set just waiting on who they play

That tournament is out east isn't it? Guessing Syracuse or UConn will have a few fans there.

Yeah from what I have read Indiana initially agreed upon a game with UNC, then it was switched to WVU, no paperwork was ever signed. Then the B1G decided to add 2 more conference games, which threw in a wrench into the non conference schedule making. Crean would literally schedule the 8-10 cream puffs for the following season, every summer. He never had any multi-year deals with teams, so Archie is still playing catch-up with the current and future schedules.

this seasons OOC is a upgrade from the last couple years.

obviously the pre tourney teams will not be much to hang their hat on, but they also are teams Fran has no control over to be scheduled.

I thought BB schedules were set up on a year by year basis, vs FB that has contracts out for 5-6 years.

Nope. You can set up multi year deals such as 2 for 1 or as IU has with Louisville currently (3 year deal) N-H-A
OK I guess Iowa has that kinda made up deal with ISU even though it is mandated by the Iowa BOR. just like Iowa playing UNI and Drake are a mandated game by the Iowa BOR,

if the BOR had their way they would be playing ISU, UNI and Drake EVERY year. but the B4 was developed so that Iowa and ISU would rotate playing Drake and UNI every other year. this freed up 1 game per year for both Iowa and ISU.

Pitt and Wake? Sheesh. Those two teams might win 5 ACC games combined.

The Champions Classic and CBS Sports Classic are other great examples of 3 year deals.

I'm not sure if UK/UL is a two year deal. UL could leave their conference and they'd still play the rivalry. @KU/Mizz
