Why does Kentucky Suck?

UK has been the face of our conference in round ball since dinosaurs crapped in their diapers.
But recently the SEC has become very competitive. Teams like Tennessee, Auburn, and Alabama have made our conference a stronger force. No longer can the cats count on dominating. Like Bama in football this year who "sucked" because of 2 losses, UK can't just "cruise" thru their schedule.

I think the game has simply evolved, and Cal hasn’t. Some people like to say Cal could never coach in the first place but that seems like revisionist history to me. It’s not like he was loading up his UMass teams with loads of star freshmen.
Oh look, another UK thread by Ms. Deller. This is the fourth straight year that Barnes has had his best UT team ever (your words) and you’re worried about UK. Not getting any attention at home again? Had to come get you some big blue loving I see!
Thanks, I do try. There’s a lot of earned and justified criticism to go around here but it can be hard sometimes when even other UK fans say stuff like “Cal was never a good coach”. Like that just doesn’t hold up to any amount of serious scrutiny. I *never* thought we were going to lose any individual game for the first 7-10 years Cal was here (I’m also sane and knew that we’d lose sometimes, but I’d never have predicted a loss in a vacuum). It can be true that Cal was a top shelf coach 5-10 years ago *and* be true that he’s likely not even close to that level today.
I love the “Swaggy Cal” persona so much, nothing was more fun than that era of UK basketball for me, but it gets old when we keep losing the same way over and over again, and doing that more often than we used to.
Cal has more or less mailed it in since he signed that lifetime contract. His win/loss record since then is abysmal for a place like Kentucky. He has 1 post season win since then and he’s like 7-15 against ranked opponents.
If i didn’t know better i’d sware hes tanking to try and force that buyout before he takes a job elsewhere.
