Top 25 teams of the 2010s

The #2 ranked team in the country played in the NIT in one of those years.

Slightly different situation.
UNC, UF and UK all followed up a national championship with an NIT. UK was the only one with an injury, but still, let's not pretend it's out of the realm. I'm kind of surprised you're taking some sort of victory after being beat the year before. You really don't seem to pay attention to other schools. It's flattering UK gets to you so much, but it's also telling.

Stepping down from my soapbox. carry on. I'm still fascinated by the attention.

Go to Rupp Rafters and try to view it through the eyes of a KU fan, and you'll see why a certain fanbase might annoy me disproportionately. It's not like I'm alone. KL is the typical poster on RR.

Also, like I pointed out before, basically every KU attack on this board originates from a UK fan. And I'm not saying they only attack KU. They attack everybody. It's what they do. Although KU does get a little more attention than most. The hypocrisy of it is mainly what kills me.

I'm curious why you bother with a board that annoys you so much. If I go to a UNC, KU, Duke UL, IU, UT, Florida, etc, etc, etc, they're going to shit all over UK...constantly. Why would I bother?

My bad, if your hobby is to keep up with what UK fans are doing/saying, I'll respect it. I don't get it, but I'll stop bringing it up.

That's BS. The Louisville board might have a lot of venomous threads about Kentucky, but the others don't. At least the KU board doesn't. A lot of posters on the KU board actually defend Kentucky when they're brought up. Some won't, of course, largely because they've been to RR.

As for why I've been on that board...it's well-established that it has traffic like no other. If there's a big story in CBB, it's often going to be posted there before here or elsewhere.

I know "Kentucky isn't for everyone" is a pitch, but for real, he was not able to handle the stage.

Didn’t he have a year to adjust to Kentucky? He transferred in, right? He had a leg up over OAD freshmen who prolly can’t handle high-major college. And didn’t he transfer from NC State?

Yep, he was part of UK's title run (redshirt), He transferred to Georgia St afterwards and did much better there. To be fair, his dad had a stroke prior to the season, and he publically said he didn't want to go back to Kentucky, and I'm sure that played a big part, but he clearly was never really into his time at UK. Maybe others disagree, but he played "soft" or tentative while at UK. Not anything near the alpha's Calipari usually has running Point.

Mix that in with Goodwin's inability to pass, losing so many from the team before, and Noel's injury, that season had disaster written all over it. Glad it's over and we can move on. :)

You were talking about the 40s title-winner that followed up with an NIT appearance, right?
No was talking about how someone mentioned Florida was only team to get a title group to come back. In reference to other programs struggling and going to NIT after a title. The 2007-2008 Florida team after the repeat team went to the NIT. Some poster made it sound like they didn't

Pretty impressive considering how bad we were when Bennett took over

Without reading through all of this, its hard not to have Duke and Kentucky at 1 and 2, right? Kansas is kind of a funny pick, without doing much research.

Well, in that span, they're 2nd in overall wins and 3rd in tourney wins, with the 2nd-most final fours, 2nd-most elite 8s, and 9 league titles. Whether they're 2nd or 3rd, they obviously deserve to be up there somewhere.

Fair enough. I have no issue with them near the top, then

Probably the best program that didn't win a championship this decade

Who would you have ahead of them? They are tied for the most wins this decade of the non-championship teams and have more tourney wins and Final Fours than Gonzaga
Looking over it again, they are the best non championship team this decade. You're right.

They could probably lay claim to that title in a lot of decades.

Lol at Kansas, what did they win?

Well...

Running records into this decade:

- record 30 straight ncaa tourney appearances continuing to present

- record 14straight conf titles ending 2019.

- 2nd winningiest all time

And JUST this decade:

- won conference every year

- I believe we are top 3 winningiest for sure this decade. Maybe #1 - not going to do the math.

- 2 final fours (12 and 18), 1 national runner up (2012). 5 elite 8’s, tied for 2nd with Duke. UK 1st at 7.

- 6 1 seeds this decade - more than anyone.

- owned our blue blood rivals (UK, UNC and Duke), 3-1 last 4 over each

You’re missing the most important stat which is a title. I’m sure 50 years from now people will look back and say yup Kansas won 14 straight big 12 titles. They may even throw a parade. Basically even thing else you posted is a nice way of saying the second loser. Let’s face it. Villanova should be ranked ahead of you.

Hey that’s fair. Nova should def be up there. Maybe in our spot even. But I would say all 5-6 are pretty comparable
