The SEC is shaping up to be a tough Conference

how I would categorize the SEC

elite- Auburn and Florida
very good- Alabama
good- Tennessee and Mississippi St
Above average- Texas A&M and Kentucky
slightly above average- Ole Miss
So this Kentucky team with 3 top ten wins, and have beat an elite and a good SEC team is just "above average"?

It's normal to do that. Heck, most UK fans are biting nails trying to see if this team is going to step up the physicality and toughness to make it to the finish line without coming apart.

We knew this was going to be a transition year, but Pope has way overachieved to this point, but with the league as tough as it is, it could go to hell quickly.

I get why UT fans are discouraged, but what happened at Florida, was an anomaly, UT is still legit, that wont happen again.
Getting Kerr back will do wonders for this UK team.

I would say he's going to have to edit his rankings, especially after UK just won @ MSU, a team he has a notch above us.
Also, how good is Auburn going to be without Broome for a while? Yeah, he'll be back, but he may not be the same.

Broome has a non-surgical low ankle sprain. That’s a lot better than the dreaded high ankle sprain. Will probably be back by the time we play Tennessee.

Yeah, he definitely got lucky, that was a bad roll, I would have put money on a high ankle sprain after seeing how bad he rolled it.
I immediately lifted my foot off the ground. PTSD from the many times I rolled mine got me good. Haha.

I’ve heard some doctors say a fracture is easier to recover from than a high ankle sprain. Those can linger for a long time.

I could believe that, my high ankle sprain caused pain for every bit of a year.
Of vourse, I was an idiot and didn't do the correct rehab excersizes, but still, it's a bitch of an injury.

It will be really interesting to see how SEC teams are treated when it comes to seeding this March.

For instance, if Auburn, UK, UT, UF, and Bama are all 14-4/13-5 going into the SEC Tournament, in my opinion, they should all deserve 1/2 seeds in the NCAAs.

This won't go over well with fans of ACC schools, but a team like Duke does not deserve a one seed playing in a conference as weak as the ACC. There is a decent chance they go undefeated in conference play, as the only remaining "challenges" they have are at Clemson and at UNC.

Just my opinion.

lol, the SEC has been the weakest power conference in basketball for the majority of years, how did Kentucky like their 1 seeds then? If Auburn is healthy, they are the best team imo. If Kentucky is a 1 or 2 seed, I want Louisville in that region. I’m not saying Kentucky isn’t good, but they definitely aren’t elite.

UK hasn't been a one seed for a decade, haha. What one seeds are you talking about? 2015 when UK was undefeated? 2012 when they won the natty with AD?

Do your own research dude, I stand by what I said. The SEC has never been the top conference, or even close to it until now. I don’t have an issue with the scenario you brought up, but Duke did beat auburn and Clemson beat y’all. No matter how many SEC teams are seeded 1 or 2, Tennessee and Auburn are the only championship threats imo.

Haha, what research do I need to do? You made the claim, not me. Hahahaha. Back it up, you said it...

Again, 2015 when UK was undefeated, 2012 when they won the natty? Which other ones dude? What other one seeds are you claiming?

Duke has played three teams currently ranked in the top 25, all of which were OOC. They went 1-2. Now they are beating up on a midmajor conference with double digit wins. They don't deserve a one seed.

At least the SEC had one or two other teams rated outside UK back when the conference sucked. The ACC has NO ONE ranked at this moment, aside from Duke.

Yet you lost to Clemson? Lol

Yeah, but the strength of the SEC in the padt really doesn't matter here.

He brings up a good point and.it is worth discussing.

We know duke is going to ge a 1 seed, I mean, they will be, no doubt, but when all is said and done, their resume isn’t going to be as good as 3 or 4 SEC teams.

Right now, UK has 4 wins over the top 12 in the NET, nobody else has more than 2 and when all is said and done, UK will probably have a few more and they have a win on a neutral over duke, so why does duke get a 1 over UK? Does duke have a road or neutral win anywhere close to Gonzaga, or Mississippi State? I don't think so.

Auburn, Alabama, UT and Florida will most likely also have better resumes, just look at the schedules these teams have to play.

What if duke also loses at Clemson?
I’m not taking up for Duke, I just let him know that an unranked team in the “mid major” conference beat his kittens. As far as Kentucky getting a 1 seed, 67 teams would love to get in that bracket. Again, I’m not saying Kentucky isn’t good, they just have to be hot to have a chance against the better teams. Kinda like Butler hitting 7 out of 7 threes against us, I doubt he could do that again. Kentucky is where they should be in the metrics, about a 4 or 5 seed.

Gotcha, so you aren't going to back up your claim. Haha.

I did not lose the game, as I didn't play in it.

If you think UK is right where they should be as a four seed, please give me a minimum of 12 teams with a better resume currently then UK...

If you think UK is right where they should be as a five seed, please give me a minimum of 16 teams with a better resume then UK.

Thanks.

Oregon is ranked 15th , their resume is better.
