Talk me out of Florida in the E8

Keenan Evans did not look healthy vs WVA. I have a hard time putting them in the second weekend if he's not healthy.

Oh I 100% agree. Even with him 100% we are good, but I would not call us "great" on a national level compared to some of the big boys.

They lose to TTU in the 2nd round.

Just for more humor... Tech only lost 1 home game all year. We are playing rounds 1 and 2 in Dallas, which is only about 4 hours away and has a HUGE alumni base of Red Raiders. TTU fans will pack the house and it will be an unfriendly environment for the Gators.

Our fan base has a reputation for a reason.

Y’all are on upset alert vs SFA

BOOM we have a winner! UCLA will beat Florida and Cuse will beat TCU.

There's reason 11 seeds who win the play in game usually win their next game...these teams are generally peaking at the right time while 6 seeds are either stagnant or trending downwards.

We should be. They play defense very well like us. It won't be easy... Its not like our O is a scoring machine as it is already.

And I have been following Tech sports for the better part of 2 decades.. so believe me, I am ready for heartache.

I do think Tech can go on a run but that 1st round matchup is tough vs an instate mid-major with some tournament experience

Jay Bilas, the smartest man alive, picked Purdue for the Elite 8. No further explanation needed.

Do the Gators have anyone that can guard Haas? Most teams do not.
You don't NEED a guy that can matchup perfectly with Haas, but if you dont you better have a guy like Wagner for Michigan that's a mismatch on the other end. I've watched Villanova and their big guy Spellman can be that guy IMO

Purdue scares me the most. We couldn’t just hack Haas because he’s a 76% FT shooter.

We are incredibly inconsistent. Hell, a Final Four run is perfectly realistic. But going 3-20 from 3 and losing to St. Bonaventure is perfectly realistic too. This team seems to show up mostly in big games. Are they smart enough to take St. Bonaventure seriously? Not sure.

We went 9-2 vs. the top 10 teams in the SEC and 2-5 vs. the bottom 4 teams.

Who shows up each game is always a question mark, the killer, or the clown?

Vanderbilt has beaten Florida 6 out of the last 7 times. Expect that trend to continue...

Eh the Bonnies over Florida then. I considered St. Bonaventure a slight underdog against UCLA but am impressed they won with bad games from both Adams and Mobley. That won't happen twice.

Damn, good thread OP. More I think of it, Florida might be the smartest longshot final 4 pick you can make. Could single handedly win you a bracket if it does indeed hit, which Florida has talent.

Would almost have to go contrarian and load up on them if not for my Purdue bias.

You tried to tell them.
