You add in people just reading headlines and suddenly Larry Nassar represents MSU football and basketball. Any allegation is then just proof regardless of any facts.

I’m well aware there could be various reasons but I don’t think it’s a coincidence once attorneys began to dispute what was being reported and any insinuation they were ignoring any facts or were pressured by MSU not to bring charges. It’s one thing to pile on and slam MSU but once ESPN only aired and talked about half the story and insinuated any wrong-doing, things went quiet quickly. I don’t find that to be merely a coincidence and I don’t think attorneys just like to issue finely combed statements without purpose just for the hell of it.

Search Gibbons and Gibbons Rape on Rivals. MSU posters will call Gibbons a rapist though charges were never filed and then turn around and say Appling couldn't have sexually assaulted anyone because charges were never filed.

I doubt that the intent was rape, but when one of the two being accused of assault comes out and says that it was apparent that the girl was an unwillingly participant, the victim's alleged learning disabilities are grossly irrelevant.

What happened in that dorm room is something that happens at a lot of institutions, not just in America, but around the world. It is a culture in need of change and this is a classic example of how athletic departments are a handicap for change. This is not a knock on MSU only. This kind of shit happens all over.

Fair points. But situations like these are an opportunity for programs to put morals ahead of sports. It can be determined that the players conduct does not represent the program whether or not a crime can be proven or if the players can even be prosecuted. I agree fully with the protection for the males as you brought up. But it doesn't look like we are talking about a completely innocent person here. It is clear that a line was crossed whether it be a crime or not. If nothing else, I hope this will be used as a learning experience for all moving forward.
