So, about Kentucky...

Idc what anyone says. That trio of players.....2 of them are different types of OAD players. They are the best since A.D. and it's easily the best trio since idk when. I can't think of 1 opposing player that will stop Zion or Barrett.

Duke will have trouble before the year is over. They arent just going to steamroll everyone.

I will say though, ZION is an amazing basketball player.

This exactly. They met again and were a foot out of bounds on a 3 that went in from being a 3 point game under 2 minutes in the championship.
Duke isn’t that good, Kentucky isn’t that bad. Just the perfect storm.
Meh....I dunno. I mean, are they gonna play like that every single night? Of course not. But they won't have to. A micro of that is going to be really good. Kentucky's going to be just fine. But Duke? Man. Most impressive opening night I can recall.

The outlier for me that I think UK (Cal) will fix, was Kentucky kinda of panicked. When Duke opened with their flury, it seemed as if UK started rushing everything. Took bad, quick shots. In other words, they panicked. And by the time they got their feet about them, it was to late. It was odd to see a UK team kinda of, well, wilt under pressure. No counter punch. Cal's better teams, hell, even his not so better teams, just fought man. Down 12...down 10. 20 or 25...they fought. And you knew they were coming(back). Not this team. Hate to use this word, but man it was as if they quit. Cal IMO will fix that. I'm not a rah-rah Cal guy, but one thing I respect about him and his teams, is their fight. So I think that gets fixed.

Kentucky still has the abiltiy to be really good. Elite good. Last night was an example of nothing going right for one team, and the other hitting on all cylinders. With that being said----

Duke is scary, scary good.

That's actually what surprised me most about last night...Cals teams always have an edge to them, and if they get hit, they hit right back.

I kept expecting UK to make a couple plays...gain some momentum, and make things respectable. I think if Cal is smart, he can parlay this beating into a very focused, determined squad.

So, how much of that was who Kentucky actually is as a team, and how much was just the weird outlier sort of game that happens sometimes? It seemed Travis, Herro, and Johnson played roughly about as expected, but the rest really disappointed. Given how many were freshmen or guys who have played complimentary roles before, how much of that is who they actually are as players? I can’t help but think it is a lot more about random shitty game, although they are missing the sort of top tier talent that Cals teams usually feature... there is often a big gap between the very tippy top talent and just top talent.
Off night. Look forward to March if you get far enough to play us again.

Well at least we'll have the revenge factor. But I doubt it will matter...

We got prison raped.
