The team has done a decent job vs top ranked teams and lost some head scratchers. Lost a decent size lead vs ‘bama last week. I think they’d prison rape Kansas with a healthy team and wipe the residue on the sheet. What other teams do you see them sack stomping?

Going out on a limb here, huh? UK beating an unranked, 19- 9 Kansas team.

Man I dunno....

He's saying it's not going out on a limb to claim a 9-loss team would handle a 9-loss team.

It's been disappointing, but it ain't over. KU fans have always been told the regular season means nothing. But when they falter a bit, suddenly it does. 😆
Kansas should be better. I have seen Self put far lass talented overall teams out there and have more success than this one. I think this is the worst coaching job in a season maybe ever in Selfs career so far. Something is off and its not talent.

Which teams were far less talented and had more success? There's probably one NBA player on the roster, and he's a raw freshman playing behind Dickinson. Teams don't even guard Adams or Harris, and it's hard for Dickinson to consistently dominate when he's triple teamed. A lot of these guys are okay individually but don't complement each other well. Harris and KJ would be bench role players at best on a vintage KU roster, and Storr was vastly overrated.

That said, they've shown they can compete with anybody at their best. When they try to sleepwalk through a game, it doesn't end well.

It's no secret that something was off. Players were pissed about their roles and favoritism, and the staff's been struggling to get Storr to buy in all season. The Utah trip was supposed to be a bonding experience and it turned into a complete disaster, with players blowing up on coaches. Result was a dysfunctional situation that led to two bad losses.

After the BYU debacle, Self had some talks, and the day before the next game he announced it's a "new season." 0-0. The OSU game was maybe their best of the year. They played with more energy and cohesion than they have all season. Followed it up with another win but they'll have a much bigger test on Saturday.

The Athletic posted a list of the top 100 NBA draft hopefuls and there's zero KU players. Self isn't drastically underachieving.

He messed up by not recruiting over Harris and KJ though. His love affair with those two is strange.

why was kansas preseason number 1?

why was kansas preseason number 1?

Brought back Dickinson and two more senior starters, added a supposed star in Storr, a pair of proven shooters and a highly-rated freshman. With Bill Self. On paper it seemed pretty good.

5 of the preseason top 10 are unranked right now and the others are having worse seasons than KU. They miss on these all the time. It's getting harder to predict teams in the portal era. You never know how quickly transfers are going to adjust or thrive in a new system, if at all.

The
So, where does that put the Vols? They couldn't take 7......
Vols are a top 5 team, not that has anything to do with it, Trey.

I think I’m the only one to rate UK. How do you rate them?

With the full roster UK would be really good; however, they have only played 7 games with a full roster.

Based on the limited health of this team I would rate UK as a lower half of the SEC team who will get into the NCAA and possibly lose the first game, depending on their health.

Robinson is out for the season, Kriisa is out for the season, Butler is hurt and is not the player he was last month with him having to wear a brace and Carr still has problems with his back. It does not look good for UK.

To show how typical this season has been, yesterday ABC lost signal for the game at 12:24 left in the second half. We had to finish it up on radio.

Jeff, you need to be responsible and not sell it to that old man. He would put his eye out with it.

You two young punks don't know crap.
I built 460's and raced them in mud drags, my last engine I built 15 years ago was a 547, and never lost a race.
Now, yes Jeff I have money, I would love to have a 78-79, and best I remember that is your Bronco.
I would love to talk to you more and see some pics. Maybe someone can hook us up so we can share phone numbers.
Also, ignore @della on this conversation, it's so far above her precious little head.

I'm a big fan of the 429/460 blocks. I would love to do a 547 build. I built this one and it's the first and only motor I ever built. She runs pretty well, bit I know I left some ponies on the table.
It’s definitely better thsn the 351M that was in it.

You would be surprised what I know, old timer. You might exhibit some smarts if you recognized not to underestimate me.

Yes about the 351M, but it had the C6 transmission in it to bolt up to the 460, same bellhousing bolt pattern. That is why I look at them models, easier swap to a 460. The main problem with the 460 is the heads like the D3 heads, you have to drop down to D0ve or C9 C8 or the 1970 Super Cobra jet.
