More than me have explained to you the concept of 'tradition-based' programs and the effects that has on their success.. You just refuse to hear it.
You have failed to break down how wins in the 60's and 70's translate into wins now.
It's the reason why Blue Blood programs are Blue Blood programs. You just don't get it.
JC, coach makes the team along with the school investing in CBB and competition. Get a crappy coach and your team will suffer. Have an admin that is no longer in supporting the program and it will wither. Finally, competition matters.
UK has new coach and the jury is still out on him.

Competition is vastly improved in the SEC and overall. UK as well as everyone else has very few gimmes.
Being a Blueblood has no bearing on performance
Basketball programs' success begins with getting a talented roster. Tradition-based programs are the ones usually taking the top 5 spots in the recruiting class rankings.
I think the coach is the largest factor in securing players. Things are different now that NIL is here.
Not looking that way at UK. The 5-star dudes keep showing up to play there. Pope has more than enough NIL resources behind him as well. Club Blue (yes, I'm a member) is just one of many of said resources.
