On this day 16 years ago Kentucky and Tennessee

The recruiting class as of right now pretty much refutes your entire 2nd paragraph. Pope is killing it there too.

Jasper Johnson
Malachi Moreno
Acaden Lewis
...most likely... Caleb Wilson.
Those names mean nothing to me. The fact that teams like Gonzaga are not good and use to be nobodies proves my point. The fact that Auburn, bama and UT are outperforming UK in recent years also supports my argument.

Y'all made that commitment at the expense of other sports. Call it the curse of the "bear".

Tradition has been crushed and you are living the new reality. Kids don't come to a school for education, they come for a paycheck. They also are planning on a one and done and not 4 years. The paradigm of the past is long gone and you need to recognize that and plan accordingly.
Not entirely true, heck Tennessee has kids that seemingly stay forever and now that Cal is out at UK, you are going to start seeing guys like Travis Perry and Noah stay 4 years.
Purdue and pretty much every team that has made the FF the last 6 or 7 years, has seniors that stayed in the program.
NIL is in its infancy, so who knows how this is going to go, it might actually keep kids at a single school longer.

So, it was more beneficial for y'all to lose on senior day?
It wasn't as important as winning the SEC title. It was more important for us to beat you when hadn't clinched the SEC. The race was already over.

If they are good enough for the NBA they will more than likely go.

UT, Bama and Auburn haven’t been outperforming UK. Check the head to head records. The league schedules are unbalanced, so nothing is created equal and UK won the league by 3 games in 2020, there is nothing that shows UT, Auburn and/or Alabama that has outperformed UK.
As far as SEC championships go, UK has fixed the problem, Cal is now proving what the problem was the whole time.

Sure, but that's not what your post said.
It doesn't matter what program it is, if there is a player that is NBA material, he’s gone, but that's 10% of the workfoece in college.

There us one coach that pushes kids out the door so the next batch can come in, that guy is at Arkansas, every other coach tries to retain players.

Is national championship your target, since just making the final four is still losing? Wait, Tennessee hasn't made a final 4. Just trying to figure out Tennessee's ambitious goals. I mean beating KY is a lofty goal for some.

Jeff, getting knocked out in rd 1 is a bad look.

I don't know about that Jeffy

Targets are staged. !st you want to win conference

Exactly and final 4’s are apart of that! Thank you for finally admitting that.
I have not responded to your posts so far because they are idiotic. Your weak attempt to put words in my mouth and then dispute them are just plain dumb. SEC title-> Dance-> go as far as you can go, hopefully a title. That is what I have said, if you disagree, then have at it. But, stop making up shit I said.

Idiotic? What did I say that was idiotic? You simply don’t reply because you don’t know what to say.
Let me throw a little something else at you, you always say the past is the past and you only like to talk about the last few years of UK/UT because Barnes is now the coach so now that Pope is our coach and Cal is no longer here I’m sure you’ll wanna drop all the 1st round loss stuff correct??? Since Cal isn’t here anymore and he was our coach in the past I’m sure you don’t wanna talk about all that anymore right?

Not recently, Jeff. Vols climbing up and Cats climbing down.
Y'all just got blown out by 30 to a team UK beat, it looks to me like it's the other way around.

You’re going to be pissed if Pope nabs a FF before Barnes does at UT.

I think you’ll be pissed when your won anything BYU coach let’s you down, Jeff.

Btw, don’t be scared of UGA anymore, Vols ruffed em up for ya. You’re welcome

Again, SEC title, dance, as far as you can go. That is what I have said.

Wrong! You have said making a final four and not winning was a failure. I think your words was “first loser”! Don’t change up now sweetness!

No, I answered someone’s question regarding order of goals. I did not rank FFs as a goal. This is why it is a waste of time talking to you.

UK weakened Florida for your beloved Vols, but it wasn't enough.
I would hate to see what Florida would have done to your guys if UK hadn't already beatem them down.

Stop lying! You really wanna set here and say that you have never said “making a final four and losing is a failure??????

Again, this is why this conversation is stupid. I answered a question and that has nothing to do with ever saying anything. If you don't win the title you failed in a sense, cause you left a goal unachieved. I have been fairly consistent in that view.

Gonzaga's not good? They've been NCAA Tournament media darlings for years now, since even before the days of Adam Morrison. They've certainly been more consistent in the NCAA tourney than ut has since they became 'known'.

...and again, considering that UK's problem is now at Arky, you really need to drop the "in recent years" timeframing crap. Last year, "here and now" was the ongoing theme in 98% of your posts. Now we get to this season and you want to run with the timeframing. This is what I mean when I've told you about how you just talk/argue in circles.

Gongaga is good and they weren't good is what I meant to say and supports my premise.

You need to understand that talking about what I had for lunch today in not a ligit statement and relative to the conversation about lunch and today. Just like UK was good in 1940 and just meh today. Just because you were good doesn't make you good in the future or present. JC, you know that and to argue against it is just silly. Jordan was good back in the day, but probably wouldn't make a roster today.

A just 'meh' program today wouldn't be 4-0 against top 15 teams. A 'meh' program today wouldn't be leading ALL OF COLLEGE HOOPS in all-time wins, either. Nor would they have EIGHT National Titles.

With you I feel like I'm having to say the same things that need to be said to U6 fans....there's facts and there's opinions. You should know the difference.

Michael Jordan is 61 yrs old, so that last analogy is an utter failure.

A meh team would lose to unranked teams and UCLA has won more titles than UK, but those old titles have no bearing on what will happen in the present or future. Those are facts.

Deflecting again.

Is 'meh' the right word for a team that gets blown out by 30 to a team who just lost to unranked Missouri at home?

You're the one deflecting because you can't argue the facts presented. Be careful with that line of logic cause it will bite you as said team whipped the team by around 20 that that beat you by dbl digits.

You ignore my facts and try to counter with others to fit your narrative. UCLA wasn't even on topic, but you tried to force them into what we were talking about. That's deflecting.

Being a fan of the program that for it's eternity, stands with ZERO titles (and ZERO Final Fours for that matter), it stands to reason that your words ring pretty hollow towards UK basketball, all stats/facts considered.

Life on the road in the SEC is gonna be tough this year. Both of our teams have already found that out.

Gonzaga is an awful example. They've been good ever since Few became the head coach in 1999, not because kids are going there for a paycheck. They are the poster child for "coach made the program" and it isn't because Gonzaga suddenly decided to start pouring money into basketball.

Time is relative Kev and 1999 is yesterday to JC. The example stands. 🙂

You ignored my facts and proclaimed them deflecting. Now you are accusing me of doing what you just did.

Your old titles have no bearing on potential new ones. Admit it JC. Btw, I agree with your assessment of the SEC this year.

It remains safe to say that you (a ut fan-- of the program with nowhere near UK's accomplishments) should try to do better with your words towards UK, given all the stats/facts that are against you. It makes you look like a crazy lady on top of a hill, yelling at the sky.
