*****OFFICIAL NCAA TOURNEY THREAD*****

You gotta call something there at the end of regulation. But it’s doug shows so i’m not surprised. that dude is awful.

Opening Sweet 16 lines:
Texas Tech -1 vs. Duke
Gonzaga -8.5 vs. Arkansas
Villanova -4.5 vs. Michigan
UCLA -2 vs. UNC
Miami -1.5 vs. ISU (Can't believe one of these teams is going to the Elite 8, lolz)
Kansas -7.5 vs. Providence
Purdue -12.5 vs. St. Peter's

I'll guess Arizona will be favored by 6 or 7 over Houston.
7.5 vs the Big East champ seems high.

Tech favored vs Duke? Kind of surprised.

I almost feel like UNC will win their region. Seems like a crazy thought though.

I think Gonzaga probably covers, but I’m hoping Arkansas plays the game of their lives.

Not sure either of these teams cover....
Gonzaga surely can cover, Arkansas played Baylor in the elite 8 last year as a 3 seed, and lost by 9. I dont think Purdue will win by more than 12 against St.Peters though. The last two times 15 seeds made it to sweet 16, they lost by an average of 7pts only.

Arky is a replica of Memphis----just not quite the talent, or the nummbers up front...Teams like Arky, give GU problems....I'd take Arky and the points..

And speaking of the Arky/Baylor game-----Razorbacks beat 15-seeded ORU, 72-70. Great game. My sister is an alum of Oral ROberts....

I'd take St. Peter's and 12...

Meh, Creighton beat Providence by 30 a week ago. Kansas better not be looking ahead to a juggernaut match-up with Miami or Iowa State though... 😆

I think Tech covers that spread.

I could see the UCLA-UNC game going either way but I am taking UCLA just based on defense.

Would love to see Arkansas knock off Gonzaga, but I think they'll cover too.

KU beat Iowa St in Ames without Agbaji, and did it pretty easily. I probably don’t respect them as much as I should.

Miami would worry me a little. They’re athletic and quick and they play hard. Plus, Charlie Moore might want to prove something to his old team.

Yeah, I like Miami to beat Iowa State if they show up like they did today but it's another toss-up imo.

Vegas has interesting ideas, but I'd be surprised if the odds stay this way on game day, Duke is most likely to be favored by 1-2pts.
We'll see. Texas Tech is the best defensive team in the country on paper and they're well seasoned against some really good Big 12 offenses but Duke's offense might be the best they've faced yet.

Iowa St got beaten up in league play, but they’re undefeated in OOC games. Blew out Iowa and Memphis. Also beat Wisky, LSU, Creighton and Xavier.

Not too shabby.

I will take the best defensive team against the best offensive team every day and twice on Sunday. Defense always travels but offense doesn’t.

Interesting stat:

Five of Tech's nine losses are still playing

Two to KU
One to @ Providence
One to Gonzaga
One to @ ISU

Was nearly 6 if TCU could have pulled it out.

You dont have Chris Beard anymore though. In a close game I doubt you can pull it off, against the experience of Coach K.

Tech by 50 with K blowing a chip

You left out the best part. 😆

I swear there was one point in the second half where Cardwell was standing up and clapping - and his coach, who I believe is the guy on the far right, was gesturing him to sit down. I was rooting for Miami, but that act by the assistant coach peeved me a little bit. Dude is trying to encourage his team. That team look demoralized for the last 10+ minutes of the game. Auburn needs more Cardwells on their team.

Of the teams remaining, you could easily argue that Miami has a top 5 backcourt. What trio of guards would you take over McGusty, Wong, and Moore? There aren't many. Maybe Kansas, Villanova, and UCLA.

More often than not, it will be the guards who lead you to a championship. I'm not expecting that for the Hurricanes, but I do think they represent KU's strongest threat in the Midwest. Miami doesn't have much of an inside game, and they lack depth - but those guards are electric.

Yea i still cant believe auburns FC didnt completely dominate Miami, so ditto to guard play mattering most.

When Duke is an underdog in the sweet 16, they have lost every game. They are an underdog to Tech.
They wont be an underdog at game time though, this is just the opening odds. Also I thought, Duke was an underdog in 2015 title game? Wisconsin should be favored into that game after beating 38-1 UK.

That game opened as a pick em and the bettors moved it to Wisconsin -1 by game time i believe.

Depends on if the refs allow tech to play defense by fouling every play and not getting called like they have all year or if K really does have power over them. I'm hoping for the latter.

Every Duke fan I know (which is sadly WAY too many) has said the same thing leading up to the game. Starting to sound a lot like UK fans by pre-blaming the refs.

It helps Duke as well. They have always been at their best when they can grab and play that sort of defense on the perimeter.
