What's their resume like compared to UMs?

Bracket Matrix had Rutgers as the First spot in Dayton (4 spots into the tournament) and Michigan as 3 spots ahead coming into today.

Rutgers:
18-12(13 if they lose)
12-8 B1G
Strength of schedule: 49; Non-con SoS: 355

77 NET - 6-5 Q1; 3-4 Q2; 4-2 Q3; 5-1 Q4; 4-9 on the road

58 Sagarin
77 Torvik
74 Kenpom

Michigan:
17-14
11-9 B1G
Strength of schedule: 4; Non-con SoS: 25

34 NET - 5-10 Q1; 3-3 Q2; 6-1 Q3; 3-0 Q4; 5-7 on the road

25 Sagarin
25 Torvik
34 Kenpom

And the sky is blue :p

Just teasing Borden, refs do miss calss that favor both teams every game, just the Sparty fan was making it sound like the refs were against them, when they were missing calls for MD as well..
The refs inconsistency really only matters in the last 2-3 minutes of a close game. It’s painful to watch the refs swallow the whistle on calls they’ve been making all day or start blowing the whistle on plays they’ve been making all day in the last 2-3 minutes.

All the metrics say UM should be in, but idk. 8th in the conference. 5-10 in quad 1 games. Eh. Could go either way

Could go either way. Will come down to how much they value SOS. UM played 3 Q4 games total when most other team plays at least 6+

Michigan’s conference record was 1 game back of Rutgers/Iowa/OSU and tied with MSU and it was brutal compared to the draw of some other teams.

Played more quad 1 games but won less. It will come down to what they like more.

Mike Woodson already with more BTT wins than Archie Miller had in 4 years and first time they've won 2 since 2003. Crazy.
Archie might be the biggest "dud" hire in IU's history. He did absolutely nothing memorable in 4 years.

I think they tend to lump Q3 and Q4 together. Playing mostly Q3 opponents and few Q4 opponents in the non-conference is a great way to game the SOS metric. But a tourney team should take care of business in both quads every time.

This result suits me fine. I’d like to see iowa make it to the championship game and then lose by 39…..having any iowa team make it to the cusp of greatness before flaming out never gets old.

It is a little funny that the only thing you can do is bring ugly jokes and complain about the officials...... ;)
Lol…you conveniently missed all the other posts bitching about the refs….I know you’re desperate for my approval and attention…..now if my iowa bitch from Soundoff stalks me over here, my day will be complete. Just wait for it……;)

There's like 25 teams who can say they are undefeated in the Q3/Q4. Gotta find 20 other at large somehow...

Congrats to the Purdue fans that bogeyman North Texas is likely out of the field after losing a game in which they scored 36 points today. That would be close to a bid steal in CUSA, but I think N Texas is going to finish just outside an at large bid.

Mostly true.. but Michigan also only played 7 Q3 games. It wasn’t really gaming the system. They played a crazy hard schedule and COVID cancelled one of their cupcake buy-games.

UM played only 10 total Q3/4 games and lost 1 (home to Minny)

Rutgers played 12 and lost 3 (to dogshit teams)

Some other bubble teams are absurd tho.
ND played 17 and lost 1.
Miami played 17 and lost 3.
Wake played 21 and lost 2.

If the B1G teams are seeded well and all/mostly make it it’s a good thing.. if they are under seeded and snubbed it may be time to consider moving away from the 20 game conference schedule.
