You guys were relying on XJ to run the offense and break down the defense. Hard to get him spot up attempts when you need him playing initiator.
My question is why is Kopp playing 16 minutes and only getting zero shots? Can’t really think of any other reason he’d be out there?
Thought the offense would be more polished by now. Indiana has yet to score 70+ on any team in the top half of the league.
I'm OK with how we use X----he's tough to guard, very quick, and can get to the rim. BUT.....when teams pack it in, thats when guys like Stewart/Kopp, need to get looks.
I've given up on why Kopp plays as much, or why he doesn't get more shots. I'd actually start JG, and bring Kopp off the bench.
Woodson made it clear, he's a defense first guy....And to be fair, the defense has been really good. I think our offense is to much "NBA oriented"----and we obviously do not have the talent to do that. I mean t times, the offense looks good----and even then,we only score 60+....But when you are very good defensively, usually 65+ or a tad more, gets the job done.
Its somewhat aggrevating---b/c we have the needed pieces----I think Race is undervalued, and should be used more....Stewart/Kopp shpuld get more shots....especially Stewart. I'd like to see Geronimo get more run, and use him on the boxes, baseline runs, and get him some elbow movement, with ISO's.
Disappointed in the loss. BUt you guys are starting to play at the level expected in the preseason---and then you had Frazier go nuts on us today.
TBH, brother, I just think we over use TJD, look fro him way to much, when we have other options, that can score, i.e. More of Race in some ISO from the elboes/FT line. But then again, he at times is to damn hesitant.
But shit---had you told me 2/3months ago, we'd be 16-7, 7-5, with a legit shot at a Top 4/5 spot in the Big 10, a projected 7-seed----in year one of Woody, I would have taken it.
@ NW is a game we have to win. @ MSU is winnable. But at worse, tht stretch has to be 1-1. 0-2, and things could become very, very dicey.
