UM would have gotten upset most nights last night. What incredible luck that Montana just laid a monster, monster egg.
Disagree. They didn’t play good, but we’re talking about Montana. UM’s defense was pretty solid which played a role in the egg lay.

UM is top 3 in adjusted D. How much of it was Michigans defense and not Montana missing shots?

Also holy fvck at Beilein having a top 3 D. This Michigan team is scary.

Montana went 10 minutes without scoring or some shit. No just no. UM needed garbage time to barely eclipse 60. You struggle to get to 60 you go home in March. If they were playing Bucknell Or SFA they lose by a lot. Lucky they got a team closer to a 16 seed.

It was an ugly game on both sides, but Montana was outmatched. Besides the quick jump ahead to start the game, they were not good. They were KenPom #75 overall, with the #102 best offense.

Michigan didn't look great, but they would have had to really shit the bed to lose to them.

Indiana has been well represented so far in this tournament without even being there.

Emmit Holt (SF) - transfer to Providence (injured but was a starter and key contributor)
Stanford Robinson (SG) - transfer to Rhode Island, starter avg 9 pts, 6 reb, 2 ast, 2 stl and best on ball defender
Devin Davis (PF) - transfer to Houston, starter avg 10 pts, 6 reb
Max Montana/Hoetzel (SF) - transfer to San Diego St., starter avg 6pts, 3 reb

Mike Davis (HC) - Texas Southern (won play in game)
Kelvin Sampson (HC) - Houston (won first round game)
Tom Crean (HC) - Georgia (just hired, and not in tournament but relevant)

What a freaking mess.

If we could hit a free throw we would’ve won by about 25.

This sounds like something Gil would say. If we had played defense we’d have won the game.

Don’t apologize for winning but you’ve been mediocre at the line as a team all year. It’ll likely contribute to the end of your season soon.

I mean it is true. Either way we held Montana to under 20 points in the second half that isn’t going to win you games

Yup. It didn’t really matter in this one as Montana was awful. No gimmes after the first one though.

We’ve also played great defense all year and shut down a bad team. Saying that Montana being shut down had nothing to do with Michigan’s defense is dumb.

Jesus take a reading comprehension course. Where did I say anything about Michigan’s defense?

There’s a reason they couldn’t score, but yeah obviously if we don’t actually score ourselves UNC gonna dump truck us

You didn’t, but you were responding to MGoBlue’s rebuttal to a MSU fan saying Michigan should’ve lost because Montana’s offense was bad.

I’m not saying anything about Michigan’s defense. It’s been good all year. I’m strictly talking about your mediocre free throw shooting.

It wasn’t quoted so I didn’t even see that part. I’m just responding to a Gil like statement. Had nothing to do with the previous MSU response. It was just a Gil like comment. If my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle type of thing. UM fans are a sensitive bunch.

Well you missed his point. The MSU fan was saying that we only won because Montana sucks offensively. Part of Montana being so bad offensively had to do with Michigan's defense, and if you are going to take that credit away by saying what coudlve/shoudlve happened ("Michigan would have lost if they played Bucknell or SFA Austin!"), then Michigan fans can play the what-if game, too.

Like I said. Sensitive bunch. I’d be on edge too if my team was still playing knowing we can’t make free throws.

I'm just pointing out that you missed the point. MGoBue was saying that if MSU slappies are going to play the what-if game that Michigan should have lost, then he will play the what-if game too.

Damn, sorry to the Purdue fans. Not the way you want things to happen, who is Haarms backup?

Butler vs Purdue (without Haas) should be a hell of a game

Know the feeling. Sucks.

Losing a player the caliber of Isaac Haas during the course of the season?

No, you don't know the feeling. Losing a Kobe King or a Josh Gasser type due to injury is not the same as Isaac Haas.

Nobody gives a hoot about hurt role players.
