*Official* 2017-2018 B1G In-Season Thread

yes the season is over for Iowa but looking at it Iowa broke a 4 game losing streak in the BTT. moving Fran's record to 3-8, Fran is sitting at 402 total wins for his career.

At Iowa Fran's average record is 18.88-14.88 Conference record of 8.5-9.5 and that is with an average NCSOS of 270. Guy get his wins playing garbage teams in the non-conference.

Mediocre Fran. Keep him forever

this is his 1st P5 coaching job. all his other jobs were in the garbage when he took over and when he left those teams from 1 bid conferences ended up in the NCAAT.
and he took over a Iowa team that had only 3 BT winning season in the 11 seasons before he took over,

STOP. MAKING. EXCUSES.

Looks like Watkins (psu) is out for the b10 tourney. How much will this hurt them?

The 1st part of the following tweet tells me everything I need to know about Fran. It is plain as day to me that Fran doesn't give two shits about being any better than humiliatingly horrible. To be successful in sports you have to HATE losing more than you LIKE winning. And that needs to start at the top with the coach. And clearly that isn't present with Fran

Dude the honeymoon is over. Well over. He's been at Iowa for 8 years now. He has lost 12 games or more in 7 of those seasons. You keep acting as if he's still rebuilding someone's mess. He's not. It's his program now, and its a god damn dumpster fire.

Hope Iowa keeps him forever.

Eh not necessarily. The season, and knowing your season is over in particular, can be very emotionally draining.
Other reports are claiming that he has "had his foot out the door since December".

the possibility of playing with the Porter brothers and he is from Missouri.

but has was pointed on another site he would have to sit out a year and both could be gone before he was eligible to play.

just shit that jc IS THROWING at the wall hoping that something sticks.

How is him posting a tweet from somebody else throwing shit at the wall?

Why doesn't Tyler Cook like Iowa?
He hates losing and wants to win. Losing wears on a kid when they might only play for 4-5 years
No one has left because of Fran yet. We will see. There had been a post about Missouri and him a while back. Why the heck would he go to Missouri though?
They're an NCAA Tournament team from his home state and Iowa won't make the CIT

PSU NW was a good game, much better than the final score I thought NW had them on the ropes until that offensive foul. Carr is a special player for sure, backpacked PSU for that one to keep their tournament hopes alive.

but just for the sake of the topic lets say Cook leaves, this could give Fran a scholarship to bring in a GT or he could give it to Connor. or he could bank it and use it in the 2019 class.

the options are multiple, he might even get a JUCO PLAYER.

am I going to lose sleep over worrying about something that may or may not happen.

I totally expect next season Franny will finish around 6th/7th/8th in the B1G. It'd be such an Iowan thing to do. :D Just give Iowa fans enough hope not to fire him.
