NBA to allow, "in game challenges..."

The people upset about this do realize that we are at this point because of the constant complaining prior to the widespread replay, right?

Better to get it right than to shift momentum in a huge game because a ref had a bad angle.

I haven't heard how many challenges the coaches will get yet, but if its capped at a low number it may be fine.

It will turn into teams using them as time outs, make the game longer, etc....

I'm all for getting the calls right as long as it doesnt get out of hand.

I think a good rule would be, in the first 3 quarters of a game if a challenge is issued regardless of result of the challenge it is a full time out. In the 4th Q you get 1 challenge that does not take a timeout and that's it for the entire quarter. Under 2 mins the refs still run their own replays.

I's like to see a similar rule for the college game. It cheats everyone if a ref makes a bad call. It shouldn't be "a part of the game" anymore. I'd rather the game go a little longer if the right calls were made compared to the alternative.

Plus it would take any rumor of a ref not like a team or coach out of the equation. Stats should be tracked and refs should be punished if they make too many overturned calls against the same team or just in general.

Another great angle is everyday fans can track refs calls/overturned calls. More data the better.

As a ref, what's your thoughts? Do you want to get it right in the end with more work, or just move on with the game?
The goal is to always get it right. For me, I don't care. I'll never work an NBA game. I would hate to see it come to this, at the college level. But then again, maybe if it did, officials would be a little more aware of what they were about to call? I dunno. Its a grat feeling when your cal goes under the scope, and comes back confirmed. But it also sucks when its overturned. IMO, people are trying to perfect a game that is officiated by imperfect people. And at the cost of the fans, i.e LONG reviews. I like instant replay, but put a time cap on it. I mean, **** if you cannot tell within the first 15 views and a few minutes----5 minutes and 10 more views ain't gonna help.

Give coaches two challenges...Lose....you lose the challenge, and a timeout. Win---keep the challenge. Then once under 2 minutes, allow only one challenge. Win or lose, you lose the challenge----But with a loss, you also lose a t/o. I wouldn't mnd this at the college level.

This is one thing I'm worried about. I like the training refs undergo (you've taught me a lot about that), and I'm afraid if they don't go by split second instinct then it would hamper their ability.

James Harden has a new move in which he says is not a travel. Check it out......
