Ken Pomeroy/Houston...

If said conference is touted as the best the entire year, and gets 10-12 teams in, and all fail to make the final four.. I would consider that a failure. This isn't too difficult of a concept. Also, your examples are completely off-base and make you sound silly.
No, my example perfectly highlights the importance certain fanbases place on conference performance in the tournament. I don't really care what you think of it.

Second, again, I will try this one more time, who cares that it is a failure if the SEC doesn't get a team in the FF. Who cares??

Why does it matter so much to you? How does it help UL?

I care about UKs performance in the tournament, not whether or not the ACC gets a team in the FF because they will say "See, our conference is tough." Who cares? I know who does...ppl like you who want to "conference honk."

hahaha it is. He likes to troll media day pictures. I think this one is from a couple years back.
I don't watch the NBA much, but I loved how hard Butler played and I liked how he praised Tyler Herro and Bam, but he's been a bit of a mess this year. I don't know all the details of what's going on behind the scenes, bilut it's not ending well.

It's my opinion. Why do you care so much? For a guy that doesn't seem to care, you sure seem wound up.

Oh man, it is a shit show. I guess they suspended him indefinitely. Pat Riley seems to have had enough. It would be funny him wanting out of Miami only to land on the Jazz and hate his life.

Fvck KenPom. AU beat Houston straight up. Could give 2 shots less what his computer says.

Always loved this logic.

"We're better than every team we beat, but the teams that beat us aren't better."

Houston just keeps blowing mediocre teams out, that's why the metrics love them.

KU really choked Saturday night.

Aren't you the one who's mentioned multiple times that it's adjusted for competition?

It is, but do you not agree that the computers can't account for everything? Houston is an outlier. Their defense is so elite, that they just pummel teams that are not strong offensively. There is no team like them.
Kansas had a shot to prove that right, but they shit, pissed and puked down both their legs.

They will lose on Saturday.
Oh My George Takai GIF

Texas Tech has lost 4 games by a combined 11 points. Houston didn't lose to chopped liver. Texas Tech is a legitimate Final Four contender.

My point is that for like 6 years in a row now Kenpom has had houston at 1 or 2. They hafe mastwred kenpom's formula

They've had successful results, though. Final Four in 2021. Elite Eight in 2022 as a 5 seed (beat an Arizona team that was 33-3). 2023 was perhaps the only year where they didn't meet expectations, losing in the Sweet 16 to Miami. But, I genuinely think they make the Final Four last year if not for the Jamal Shead injury.

Houston plays very, very physical. And Big 12 refs tend to call games a little loose. What can trip them up in the tournament, is if the games are called a little tighter. They had to play a walk-on in overtime against Texas A&M last year as they had multiple guys foul out. You'd be hard-pressed to find an elite team that is more effected in the NCAAT by a tight whistle than Houston.

Auburn and Tennessee wont fair well with a tight whistle either. I am sure Duke would want a whistle against Auburn or houston though. Already preparing myself for ncaa tourney games having Cooper Flagg get 18 free throw attempts.

Duke would benefit from a tight whistle, for sure. Auburn is deep, though. You guys don't have much drop off. A very solid 8-man rotation.

One other thing that magnifies Houston's ability to have impressive metrics is they run a really slow tempo. KenPom is measured on offensive/defensive efficiency per 100 possessions. A 15-point win is magnified when there are fewer possessions. Compound that with a team that gets after the offensive glass, shoots 39% from deep, and plays very physical defense, you've got a team that won't go down easily in the tournament... but yes, foul trouble could be a little worrisome for them.
