like Roy does they’d have a chance to win a title every year like they did when the NBA lockout happened. Maybe not this year as they’re not that talented except for Hagans. Granted at least he’s not Self and actually developes his kids for the next level but I’m starting to realize that’s more about Kansas playing in the big12 than it is his actual coaching. His kids at Illinois we’re pretty successful in the NBA.

When your players don't have to attend class they have more time to practice.

You should just go back to dinner, cringe worthy attempt from a perennial NIT participant.

Great post. Slightly trollish, but very true. I gave you a like.

Been saying it for years.

I don't know what Cal can do to change it .Kids with potential are going to go pro. If Cal could ever find a way to retain players like Herro, Hagans, Briscoe, Vanderbilt, Teague, Lamb etc...UK would own the final four every year.

Our players are all gone before we ever get to see their true potential and it sucks.

How many of them would actually remain academically eligible if they chose to stay multiple years though?

so far every player that has stayed past one year has
and yes most of them have been 5 star players

1/10

But maybe the ones that leave do so when they probably should stay because they know they can’t remain eligible

The only player that quit going to class was Daniel Orton. Talk about a guy who should have went to class and came back, it’s him. Especially since he’s the only one. Literally, the only one.

I mean if you look at his two best teams they were both due to players coming back, so yeah.

With out the NBA Lockout, Calipari wouldn’t have had his best team.

OP isnt wrong. How is this a troll. Its a statement of fact. If we kept our guys, Alabama and Clemson football would be jealous of how mercilessly we raped college basketball.

With all the talent Cal has had over the years and 1 title to show for it I doubt
very seriously you believe that.

Gut your team year after year and consistently start freshmen, you rarely get to truly realize the potential. Ole Hound Dog would have a lot more vertigo if he were to try and coach, develop and win with that recipe (while making them go to real classes and not holding them back)

I think you had help with your post baldy. Everyone doesn't gut their roster like UK. Cal chooses to do that and with that he does right by his kids but every coach is different.

No ish, Wonka. Just adding context to your dumbass$ assertion.

If uk kept all their players that just means other 5 star talents will go to other schools since they wouldn't have room. It would even out.

Meaning if you get the right 5*s they don't shy away from competition.

big fish in little pond is overrated. They're telling on themselves by wanting the path of least resistance.
I still have No idea where you're going with this.. Posters have stated Kentucky would own college ball if their players stayed. I said if their players stayed longer, that just means they won't have room for other 5 star players they could have gotten. Meaning other teams will benefit from that and have more talent as well. Not sure i can make this anymore clear.

UK would still make room for the select few that got offers.

But yes, UK has 13..is it thirteen spots?
