Man I feel good about it.
This isn’t our best team ever and none of these teams are historically good.
I feel really good about Saturday and if we win I think we get it done Monday regardless of opponent.
Trust me I am not looking past Nova. This isn’t even one of Self’s top 6-7 teams but I just feel it right now. I think we finally end all misfortune and get it done
we are like 3-8 in national title games?

I think people are underestimating the emotional letdown for the UNC/Duke winner in the national championship game. Granted, it's a national championship game so they'll still be up for it but that's a quick turnaround after defeating your ultimate rival in a Final Four game. Give me Kansas to win it all.
I'd like to think that would be a big factor, but I'd imagine it will be mostly mitigated by the emotions of playing for a national title.
Mitigated yes but it will still be a factor. KU/Nova does not have to really deal with that issue. I doubt it'd be an issue if Duke was playing Miami in the championship but I could see it being the difference if they're playing KU.
Well who would know more about the Final Four - a UVA fan or an Iowa fan?

If KU wins on Sat they win it all
If Duke wins on Sat they will beat Nova but lose to KU
If Nova wins on Sat they will beat UNC but lose to Duke
If Carolina wins Sat they will lose on Monday because they will run out of gas after playing 5 guys for 40 minutes on Sat.
You can pound Miami inside but McCormack and Mitch Lightfoot will have trouble with Mark Williams' length and athleticism.
Wendell Moore matches up pretty well with Agbaji and Roach can lock down a tiny speedster like Remy Martin, look what he did to JD Notae on Saturday night.
Jalen Wilson can't stop Banchero and Braun will not be able to guard AJ Griffin.
Trevor Keels is too big and strong for DaJuan Harris to handle.
I think Nova is a tougher matchup for us since they can pull Mark Williams out to the perimeter and can expose us on ball screens.
I'm worried about an emotional letdown if we get past UNC but we match up great with KU.
KU will try to run and gun with us but we have the better horses.
What misfortune w/r to your Final 4 teams? KU in 2012 was clearly inferior to UK and KU in 2018 was no match for that Nova squad.
If you're losing in the 1st or 2nd round, you were never a title contender to begin with, maybe a Final 4 contender if things broke your way.
You're underestimating this Nova team, they're damn good. Even without Justin Moore, they have other guys that can step up.
2010 was the only time a KU title contender lost in the 1st or 2nd round under Self.
I'd say it was a bit of misfortune to shoot like 30% below the norm from the FT line vs Syracuse and to lose one of their top players. They also lost a controversial one point game to Indiana in the 50s and a 1 pt 3 OT game with Wilt vs UNC.
Also, you could consider it misfortune to run into teams like 18 Villanova and 12 Kentucky in the Final Four rather than, say, Butler.

It is......Playing in the FF is hype enough---pressure, intense, etc, etc...Now add to that you are playing your rival, whos a mere 6 miles down the road? A lot of emotion, energy will go into that game beating Duke/beating UNC, could.....COULD set in some complacently....COULD. I sense of, " we beat.............
OR----It could the other way. The pressure of beating Duke/UNC, could make playing KU/Nova seem like a relief.....And they(winner Duke/UNC) play much looser, not as tight.....the moment goes from , "Duke/UNC-----to, well, just another National title game. And no, not downplaying the significance of the pressure playing for a national title----but I believe UNC/Duke will feel more pressure in their FF game, than either will in the game on Monday Night...With an exception:
If its Duke........the pressure those kids will feel? Wow. Its "A" reason I think Duke will have a tough time winning it all....The storylines: Duke vs UNC-----and then, playing for a National title in K's last game ever..

Nope.....Its UK/UL in 2012.....And the hype is probably going to be bigger since Duke/UNC have never met in the tourney.....And its a rivalry with a much, MUCH longer history, between two schools, 6 miles aprt or so, with a combined 11 National titles and 38 FF's....
This whole tournament has really set up for Kansas bracket wise.

Nova has been their kryptonite but they’re really thin now.
Duke and UNC are really good but if it’s a hard fought game there’s a lot of emotional energy going into that. Possible letdown.

I think folk are sleeeeeeeeeeeping waaaaaay to much on Nova. I understand---Moore is a big loss, but I mean, these dudes still have players----including that Gillespie kid. Not to mention, that Wright dude can coach a little...
No KU fan is sleeping on them and I highly doubt our players are.
I do think we are better and should win.

should be an interesting game of styles. I think novas kenpom pace is like 345 and Kansas is 61.
Duke is a better team than UNC and Kansas is a better team than Nova. They both should win. It doesn't simply work that way though. UNC is a team that can give Duke some issues and a Wright led Nova team can give anyone issues.

Head to head in the tournament is all about teams advancing in the tournament more than actually winning and losing head to head. I want UNC to win so they play in the championship game and win a title. Duke just happens to be the team in the way. There is something extra for sure but it just isn't the same as the regular season matchups IMO. ACCT games are the same to me. That probably isn't the way all fans feel though.

I don’t want KU to be in a rush and force bad shots but I think they do need push the pace to wear down Nova. Easier said than done but they don’t have depth and like to play slow.
We need to be smart about it but I think that should be a goal for KU. I they get a rebound they need to go.
Defensively I feel like we need to try and speed them up and in order to do that we can need to give a little bit of a press. Pick up around the free throw line.
Agree to an extent.....FF is bigger than rivalry, for sure. BUT-----that "next team in the way" being Duke, well...........certainly adds TO the rivarly---or at least to the lore.
I guess for me, an outsider to the rivalry, its different---I guess. But I know this---I'd trade one win over Purdue in the FF, over any reg season win----Problem is though, they fukin never gets past the SW 16.... 🤣 🤣
Yes, but I would trade one win in the Final Four against anyone over a regular season win over Duke. The tournament is more about advancing more than who you play where the conference regular season and OOC games against teams like Kentucky are about beating those specific teams...if any of that makes sense. Maybe only to me, which is fine. I'm the only one who cares what I think anyway, lol.

Ha! This game means way more than any regular season game, Only thing that can compare is taking K’s cookies in his last Cameron appearance. But even that doesn’t matter like the dance. Not sure how anyone could think so. We play for March.
Just remember that this is coming from the guy who wanted to fire Hubert from the day he was hired until last week.
I saw a graphic that said it’s still 50-50, but I haven’t had time to actually look into it. For all I know it could have been old.
