How would you rank this season’s top 3 conferences?

Big 12 is freaking loaded.

SEC has a lot of talent but also a lot of question marks about how team chemistry works out.

Big East and Big Ten are in a transition but will both have enough solid teams to be right there behind the top 2.

ACC will be top heavy again but even UNC and Duke have questions.

PAC 2 is not deep at all. :)

Tough one. Not really sure about the state of the SEC. UK and AR are unknowns, TN lost a lot of starters, Can’t remember who AL is bringing back. I think KU held strong this coming season. I haven’t really kept up with the overall NCAA much this off season other than UK/AR.

If you're looking at the top of the league, say the top 6 teams, I would go with the Big 12. They could easily have 5 schools in the top 10.

If you're looking more for depth, probably the SEC. Teams in parenthesis are who I'd project as 7th and 8th. And I don't even have Texas, Mississippi State, Missouri, or Georgia listed for the SEC. Their depth is off the charts.

1. Big 12
Kansas
Houston
Iowa State
Baylor
Arizona
Texas Tech
(Cincinnati, BYU)

2. SEC
Alabama
Arkansas
Tennessee
Texas A&M
Auburn
Kentucky
(Florida, Ole Miss)

3. Big East
UConn
Creighton
St. John's
Xavier
Marquette
Villanova
(Providence, Georgetown)

4. ACC
North Carolina
Duke
Miami
Wake Forest
Louisville
Clemson
(NC State, Pittsburgh)

5. Big Ten
Purdue
Indiana
UCLA
Ohio State
Oregon
Michigan State
(Michigan, Rutgers)

I’ll go full homer and declare this is nothing short of an Illini snub. We’ll be right near the top of the standings like we’ve been the past five years.

I'd still project them in the tournament. Purdue and Indiana appear to have the most talent. After that, it's anybody's game. I also didn't have Nebraska, Northwestern, Maryland, and USC on there. All talented rosters. The gap between 3rd and 13th isn't that big. If Kasparas Jakucionis is the best player for Illinois, I could easily see them being in the top 4 of the league.

Big 12

Big East
ACC
SEC
Big 10

The SEC was the top conference last year, the year before it was the BIg 12 and they both performed miserably as a group when March rolled around. Bottom line is all this goes out the window if you can't perform against weaker opponents especially when everyone is watching.

I think Illinois has more talent than Purdue but chemistry questions that need to be answered. And I'm biased and think we have a better coach.

I probably worded it poorly. I meant it as on-court production during the upcoming season. If we're talking about NBA talent, then yes, I would agree that Illinois is more talented. Multiple players for the Illini are capable of being drafted next season.

Hey, my goal was to go to Purdue to major in chemistry.

So my statement is that Purdue should have NO questions on "chemistry".

Maybe I misunderstood your statement, but Purdue should not worry about chemistry.

Illinois may need to worry.

Sorry if I am on the wrong path!

All good but you are backwards. I was talking about Illinois having so many new players and how well they will mesh and have good team chemistry being the question.

Purdue still returns a solid core with 5 of our top 8 players back.

Indiana has the most impressive roster followed by Ill.

All of which means little if the team doesn't mesh and play smart ball.
