I sort of see the starting versus not starting as a weird distinction. I guess the idea is that a 5* on the bench is not living up to rating? Maybe the 4* is playing above it? Or is it the 5* players on the bench are the same position as the starters?
Here was their 5*s (and class rank) based on 247:
- PJ Washington (15th in 2017)
- Nick Richards (18th in 2017)
- Quade Green (26th in 2017. Left mid year)
- EJ Montgomery (9th in 2018)
- Ashton Hagans (12th in 2018)
- Keldon Johnson (13th in 2018)
- Immanuel Quickley (22nd in 2018)
I’ll agree that there weren’t any players at the top of the rating system, but that’s a lot of 5* guys. Started the year with 7 and ending with 6.
I’m not defending duke on this point because I’m not a fan and they had the most top tier raw talent of any program. But the argument coming from a Kentucky fan was a little odd based on their roster. Going into the season everyone was taking about this being the best mix of talent and experience Cal has had since 2015.
Beginning of the season they’ll tout how many 5 stars they have, and if the season doesn’t go as planned, they’ll start shifting the narrative to “our 5 stars were practically 4 stars, etc” lol fascinating.
Can't you read idiot? I said starters. Duke had all 5 starters that were 5 star and Kentucky starters were not all 5 star recruits. Both Travis and Herro were not 5 star recruits out of High School. Some idiots can;t read.

I can, Hagans and Keldon were starters. Does Kentucky field a two man team? Christ you’re ******ed. Herro and Travis were the lowest recruited players for UK at #37 and #39. Also Duke occasionally started Javin Delaurier and Jack White and Goldwire who weren’t 5 stars. So that spoils your pathetic narrative.

Just because they are both 5 stars doesn't mean there isnt a world of difference between them.
