only COVID news stuff I see is stuff like this...

It's almost like they are terrified of DeSantis running and winning in 2024 so they are trying their hardest to cast any negativity they can on him. Such a hard on for Florida. Cases and hospitalizations are up in almost every state. In North Carolina we have gone from around 300 cases a day to over 4,000 a day over the past month. Hospitalizations have gone from +/-400 to 1,700+ in less than 3 weeks. But we have a democrat governor so nobody gives a shit. Cases and Hospitalizations are up ove 50% in California and they have been seeing 12,000+ cases a day for a while. Many of their counties don't report every day, either. California is more populated, but it is only a handful of counties that make up the bulk of their cases. Florida has more higher populated counties than California and people travel from all over to visit densely populated places in Florida. But California doesn't have a republican governor, so no one gives a shit. New York has a governor who culled the elderly and sexually harassed multiple women and is only behind California in covid deaths. But he's a democrat. See a trend? The political finger pointing with covid is the biggest reason why we can't trust anything they say about it. At least the orange man held press conferences with actual medical experts. He ruined half of them by opening his mouth, but at least we heard from people and didn't just go by selected articles aimed at muddying political campaigns. So annoying.

Bill Cassidy must have presidential aspirations.

CNN and a lot of other media outlets gave DeSantis love a few months ago when things were going well in Florida.

FLA broke daily cases records 3 times last week, just showing some concern for the sunshine state, it's been a tough summer down there.

And Cuomo is hot garbage, no matter how slowly he tells his lies RollLaugh

I wasn't really aiming anything at you. I just see a whole lot more news regarding Florida than any other state. Not that their surge isn't news worthy. Just that when NY starts their next wave and Illinois, and Michigan and California, they'll be excuses made for them.

We'll put 'em on blast on rivals. Maybe it is a seasonal push down south tourists getting discount rates in FLA prolly. I think I saw overall death rate in FLA is mid-pack so you may be right maybe too much anti FLA talk overall.

When he’s not proving that he doesn’t know the population of the US, he’s pulling a page out of the Nazi propaganda playbook.

“Look, the only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated – and they’re killing people.”

A customer told me he can get fake vax cards. Not sure if he was playing and trying to work an angle, or serious, but from the looks of the real ones, I'd assume they'd pass at indoor events.

The show us your papers thing is still something I can't wrap my head around.

It's not just ties to Nazi's and Jews, it just seems off.

I'm not vaxed for health reasons. I did however Photoshop my wifes card and put my name on it. The cards are really generic. It's as if they're threatening ppl to get vaxed. Don't really sit well with me.

There's a couple of places in Memphis, specifically the playhouse who check. We went and they're ok with pictures of the vax card on our phone. I went right in.

*jokes on me if I catch it, but what can I do? I'm just trying to live normal.

Just to bump. New strand seems worse in this area. Hundreds of school kids in quarantine, ICU beds apparently full according to local healthcare workers, etc....

No talk of any shutdowns or schools closing though. 🤷‍♂️

SE KY. It was similar timeline in the first outbreak, but worse. If it goes by last time it will spread pretty quick, get bad, then almost disappear when it starts getting bad everywhere else.

Our area never had a big outbreak. NC color codes counties by cases. Yellow the least effected, light orange enhanced, orange moderate, red highest. We hit light orange for a couple of months at the end of last year. One of our bartenders is an ER nurse, she says that right now is the first time through the whole pandemic that they had to open new ICU rooms. As of Friday we had 39 ICU covid patients according to her. The highest it was before that was 12. Our county is red for the first time right now.

https://www.fsmb.org/advocacy/news-...sinformation-may-put-medical-license-at-risk/

WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 29, 2021) – The Federation of State Medical Boards’ Board of Directors released the following statement in response to a dramatic increase in the dissemination of COVID-19 vaccine misinformation and disinformation by physicians and other health care professionals on social media platforms, online and in the media:

“Physicians who generate and spread COVID-19 vaccine misinformation or disinformation are risking disciplinary action by state medical boards, including the suspension or revocation of their medical license.

I think the next order of business should be to off the CDC and Pfizer whistleblowers.
That should effectively eliminate any further skepticism outside of Twitter randos.

That is a very reckless, scary statement. But it will get defended by some on here.

I did it on my terms. Fvck big brother.
This is fixing to be one big hot mess.

I don't think employees are going to have a shot in court.

Just guessing, we see maybe, 3-5% uptick on vacc with the FDA approval. I truly believe there is a pot of people that were legitimately waiting for that.

The next tier is the people that don't want to lose their jobs in the 60-90 day window, or whatever they are provided to vacc or walk. I'm thinking you might see a 10-15% bump there.

Schools are probably gonna require staff, students, what about fans?

Again, this is fixing to be one hot mess.

I find it funny some were “unless it’s fda approved, I’m not getting it”. Lol. Now the narrative changed. Interesting.

I don't agree with that myself. But I don't see how that is somehow changing the narrative. I know plenty of people who have said they weren't doing an emergency vaccine that hasn't been approved by the fda. Like I said, that's not my line of thought, but it's not outlandish. IMO

Are those people going to get the vaccine now?

LSU is requiring papers/72 hour neg test. UGA full capacity, no masks.

My work isn't going to require vaccinations. We've had to wear masks since the whole thing began.
