As some like to say, you should celebrate ending the season with a win. NIT championship> Final four.

IU won the NIT in 1979----Over Purdue. Butch Carter hit a 19-footer with 4 seconds left, giving IU a 53-52 win.

IU won it in ‘79. Was a bit of an empty feeling, the season was a disappointment.
