How well did DJ and Boogie play?
They’re young, some games, they'll play great, some games one will be okay, then there will be games where you don't recognize the team on the floor.
I think Davis, Aidoo and Thiero will help, but you need those 2 guards to do their jobs every game. They are the straws that stir the drink.
It’s the same things we saw at UK, beat the #1 team in the country, look like the 96 Bulls, then lose the next game at home to Poop state.
It’s tough, because you see what they CAN do, but they don't play like that every game.
They'll be exciting to watch all year though, that’s for sure.

That's why they play the games. South Carolina was pre season 14th in the SEC last year, they damn near won the league (tied for 2nd).
They were right there with San Diego State, Syracuse, Georgia, Iowa, and USC as my first teams outside of the top 50. I see TCU as a bubble team.
10th isn't all that bad. 16 teams in the league - and the 9 teams ahead of them are all likely in the top 40.
Not a big deal. People can disagree with me. Tennessee will have an elite defense, once again. I'm concerned about their offense. If they find consistency wish their offense, they could easily finish 2nd in the SEC. Just not convinced yet that they have the pieces to do that.
devilz, my comments are totally based on the back and forth with UK fans and are meant in fun with a kernel of truth. Jeff weaponized your comment so I was obliged to shoot it down. The bottom line is there is not enough info to make a prediction on UT/UK with any reliability.

If you were to put UK one notch below UT, Della would say you're rankings are perfect. Haha
No, y'all should be 10 spots below UT. However, it's the same ole same ole. UK with unknown team that plays peewees in the preseason ranked high only to fall in the regular season. Wash rinse repeat.
Oh come on now. I've been very complimentary of UT, I have not said anything negative beyond scoring being an issue with DK gone. But that's not negative actually, it's the truth.

Nah, things are different at UK. There was an issue, UK fixed it and the future looks bright.
In today's game, you have to score, defense only takes you so far.
Remember, UK has scoreboard on UT and they did it with offense, the defense was ranked in the triple digits.
Your coach has never won a game in the NCAA, so expecting a title or even better a FF is reaching.
And it would burn your ass if Pope got to a FF and UT was still sitting on 0.

I could list 20 examples of coaches breaking through, or accomplish things for the first time that they never came close to doing before.
Kevin Keatts never won an NCAA tournament game in his career, went to a FF last year.
Dan Hurley stunk in the NCAAT until 2023 when he won the title, now, after a repeat title, he’s probably the best coach in the country.
Tennessee had never been to a FF in their history, until… .wait

Love Queen and Reese. Not sure how spacing is going to work, but they're arguably your 2 best players. Also, I'm intrigued by Gillespie. 66% on 2PA is bananas for a guard. I think his play on the court will be the difference in whether Maryland makes the tournament or not.
What type of run are we talking about? If it's just a run to the tournament, yes. I think both teams have enough talent to win a game or two in March. I suspect they'll both be borderline top 25 teams this year. I see them both in the 6-10 seed range.
