Ive never seen roster construction by KU, UK, Duke, and UNC this terrible. Its like none of the pieces fit together. For Kansas, it appears we have a great collection of the best role players in america. Every single one of them would kill it coming off the bench for our normal year starters.
I have argued with the homeboard about the talent that Duke has. Collectively they believe that there is great talent. My argument is that the talent Duke has is complementary talent with nothing to complement. This team has really good players, but lacks the great player that takes them to the next level. This would be a great team for Zion to be a part of. Coach K in 2005 would squeeze a sweet 16 or even an EE out of this team. 2021 Coach K is going to have to pull off an upset to even get this team in the tournament. Of course, my opinion.
Absolutely spot on. Young teams clearly need the summer and OOC cupcakes to develop. I'm not saying our teams would be juggernauts with it, but I'd like for them to have a head start going into their freshman campaign. Role defining and cohesiveness is tough to learn on the fly.
It's literally watching role players trying to be OAD. Hopefully, they'll see the error of their ways and become role players. When winning role players have a chance to shine. When forced on them early and they're losing, the reason they're role players shine like the north star.
Even though they're down this year the ratings will still high. This time it's "who will suck the worst".
Yeah, I do think it shows how important coaching can be. Many of the teams struggling have young guys who are integral to their success and probably would have been much better with some time in the system and some easy games. UNC has some other issues caused by the tough recruiting during the scandal but still I think the young guys not having a chance to really learn has hurt a lot of teams.
I feel horrible for the UK freshmen...or y'alls freshmen as well. Part of the appeal is the whole experience. These kids don't get to hear the roaring crowds and all that comes with it. They're losing in solitude if you will. That's tough.
AD/KAT were a slow burn, same with a lot of other UK freshmen. These kids need time to develop. Being robbed from the points made earlier, it makes it so difficult. "I know you were in HS a year ago, I know we didn't get the chance to properly develop, but we need you to produde your HS numbers now in the college game.
I would have this opinion too if I constantly had the smell of sour nutsack on my mind.

Most teams in America lack a “great player.” They simply have to find ways to get their complementary players in roles and positions to make a successful unit.
This dude lost millions by being forced to come to college. I remember some whispers in Charlotte of him being a little soft, but wow has he been exposed the last two years.
Saw him play in the HSOT in Raleigh either right before he committed. Didn’t think he was Duke material then, sure now.
