I feel like the Duke KU game is the true start of the tournament.

In a way, I'm rooting for Duke to win, so I can focus on the OAD model.

I would expect Kansas to decimate that zone the way they shoot on the perimeter and can penetrate and pass

Length bothers Kansas. Duke has a lot of length, especially inside.

Kansas has actually done quite well against length this year. The only loss they have against length all year has been Baylor. Beat A&M, Baylor, Kentucky, Syracuse.

Mixed results against zone. Whipped Syracuse, stymied by Washington (LOL), squeaked by Baylor then got thrashed in Waco.

If you’ve watched Kansas at all you’d know that those losses all occurred when the giveashit meter couldn’t have been lower. Hopefully they raise that meter as they have the past 3 weeks.

Only comparable games to Duke was Baylor and Cuse as they're both long and played zone.

KU shot well in a comfortable win vs Cuse..
And Baylor got out of their zone early in the first game because KU was killing it.

They gave KU bigger issues in the 2nd game when they played almost exclusively man.

It's an interesting game because of the contrasting styles.

For KU to win they have to make jumpers and turn Duke over to get easy scores in transition. It's a given Duke will probably have 15-20 second chance points and win the rebounding total by a wide margin.

Is it just me, or does this game seem like the ONLY marquee game to date(in the NCAAT)? Just seems this tourney hasn't had "that" game,or games. I guess that's what you get with all the upsets. I mean no UK/AZ. Or UVA/UK..Or UVA/AZ...No MSU/Duke. Or UNC/Michigan...Just really no interesting, P5 match-ups.

Yeah. This is one of those marquee games you hope to see when the bracket is announced. Glad it came to fruition

This is the de facto Final 4 and if this winner plays Villanova, that will be the de facto championship game.

I disagree because I believe Michigan can beat any of the 4 on the right side in a game straight up. They can get hot and Wagner can be a match-up problem.

Never said that Michigan couldn't beat any of these teams, but Villanova, Kansas and Duke could ALL possibly make the Final 4 (in this tournament) and play each other for the title if they weren't on the same side of the bracket.

Wasn't there a stat that said something like since 1990, Duke and Kansas have been the two winningest programs in college basketball?

I mean how dare they want a true neutral court. The audacity.

K-State didn't seem to have a problem playing Kentucky "at home."

As if it will be 1/10th as loud as Allen Fieldhouse.

Duke has nothing to complain about. Most talented roster in the country, supposed greatest coach of all time, and they can't earn a 1 seed over the likes of Xavier?

Funny coming from a Kentucky fan, who's coach and fans cry about seeding/refs/NCAA/ sites YOU NAME IT

3 keys to me for KU to win

1. Shoot a good % from 3. Can't shoot sub 30% from deep. Probably need to hit 40% and up against that zone.

2. Secure the defensive rebound. KU's first shot defense has been solid all year. Where they've been bad and what has killed their defensive efficiency is all the offensive boards they give up. If they cannot hold Duke to a decent amount of offensive rebounds then they will lose.

3. Beat Duke down the court. Goes hand in hand with securing the rebound. When they get the rebound they need to push it and keep Duke from getting comfortable in the zone.

They do these 3 I feel confident they can pull out the win. Now we'll see if they can pull off any of these.

Duke -3.5, O/U 155.

Oof. I wouldn’t bet either side of that with someone else’s money, looks dead on to me.
I’m genuinely shocked it isn’t essentially a pick ‘em. Not sure who wins, but KU +3.5 is a lock

Today’s the day!!!!! Bring it Dukies!!!

Looking at how many offensive rebounds KU gives up it is hard to think they can beat Duke today if Duke aren't pissing the bed, but then again KU have beaten some really good teams this year so who knows?

As good as KU can be in transition, getting out in transition will be a major issue if they can't rebound and secure the ball. I like the idea of putting Marcus Garrett in the middle of Duke's zone but if anyone I bet it ends up being Vick which isn't a horrible idea either.

yep, you clowns please keep underestimating Sister Jean's army cause I can't wait to see the shocked look on your faces when the Ramblers curb stomp whichever blue blood shows up to get their ass whupped a week from Monday.

As a fan, I am so far past done with over thinking how this game will turn out. I'm just ready for both teams to take the floor.

the more and more i look at stats, etc. on these two teams the more i feel like duke is gonna break it off in ku this afternoon. i've been completely wrong before though. only saving grace for KU is they do look really similar in areas to unc (who gave duke trouble), but unc was one of the best rebounding teams in the country. ku's not even in the top half of all D1.

Offensive rebounding and 2nd chance points today for Duke could be what wins them the game. They have an overwhelming advantage there.

Certainly possible. It will be an upset if KU wins. But they have the offensive efficiency to do it.

If I were Self, I'd have been practicing some traditional two big sets with De Sousa over the last week. F what got you there. This is do or die.

Yea. They have the shooters to wreck a zone. KU is a very good team, I just think Duke is probably a matchup nightmare for what they want to do.

I was more nervous for Clemson game. All because I've accepted KU probably won't win this game. Worst shooting game of season always shows up in the E8 and Duke will probably have 25 offensive rebounds in this game.
