The bet is that UCF will have the best defense among the 10 Major D1 Basketball Conferences by the end the year. We will go off of PPG - points per game. This is bold of me to say we will be #1.

I’ll take up to 5 sig bets. It will be for 2 weeks. And you have sign up for the bet by noon next Saturday.

This isn’t the 90s. Defensive PPG misses a lot of necessary context. If only there was a site that adjusted defense for pace and level of opponent. Oh wait there is such a thing, it’s called kenpom

I would rather have the #11 defense and #1 offense--- worked out ok in the past for us, that is coming from some "dead weight religious school " from the real Big East (since 1980)

BTW, UCF was 8th best in Adjusted Defense last year. As SDSU fan said above, Kenpom is really a better indicator. Virginia allowing the least amount of points is a HELL OF A LOT more impressive in the ACC than UCF in that meat grinder of the AAC. Your strength of schedule last year was 98th.

Nova desperately wanted into the AAC. With your basketball National Championship money, maybe you should build a FBS football program. Then maybe you wouldn’t be one the dead weight religious schools that the AAC got rid of.

To your other point, IMHO, we're perfectly content in the Big East. Having the best record in all of College Basketball over the last 5 years, one of best current coaches in the game, 2 of the last 3 National Championships, a pretty sweet TV deal and currently the #2 recruiting class for next year... I'll take it.

Keep puffing up the AAC for hoops though its all good. We enjoy playing UCONN (with a hell of a lot better pedigree than UCF) and Temple every year... they have historical success. I think the Big East is doing just fine relative to the AAC--I know head to head in hoops its been no contest and obviously recent performance in the Tournament isn't as well.

But, you are right on one front... you do have football. We aren't moving it up to the top tier... no need or desire, and frankly, we are a smaller school. Interesting that we did upset Temple this year though.....

So we will just mire away in the lowly Big East... consistently in the Top 3 or so hoops conferences year in and year out (this is a basketball board, right?).

Football is boring and stupid, not sure why anyone would want to attend a school with such a shitty activity being propped up all the time.

I haven't watched a NFL game since I stopped playing fantasy 3 years ago. As for college, I haven't watched one of those in decades. Nothing worse than college football, those games are 4 fcking hours long. F that.

I enjoyed reading that post despite the UCFact that you didn’t take the sig bet.

Just like how I said UCFootball started our Rise to Prominence in 2007 and begin our Rise to Dominance in 2018, I’m also here saying that UCF basketball started our Rise to Prominence in 2016.

So buckle up. UCF is taking over.
