Do you recall the Lexington Herald article mentioning 26 former Kentucky players on record saying they took payments? Seems like that would be one of the bigger off court moments in school history worth recalling.
I do. It was proven to be not true but I remember the article. I think that that was about 1984 while Joe Hall was the coach. Joe retired in March 1985.

Tipton and his folks at the Herald have had a running feud with UK for years.

Ha. I like Jon. I’ve had multiple conversations with him via Twitter.

He’s a super knowledgeable guy, but he’s also a super-fan, and that adds a little bias, intentional or not.

If I had to guess, I’d say 95% of what is on that site is true.
I’d say closer to 100%. He uses a lot of numbers. Not much room for bias when you are putting numbers on a spreadsheet.

You're definitely going to want to read up on Roy's book, Hard Work.

Nothing epitomizes hard work more than Roy's relentless pursuit in balancing his hectic schedule with, well, easy classes. Here is a small excerpt from the book.

When I was a kid, I got to read this and there was also an accompanying documentary. It's pretty much the history of ACC Basketball from its formation in 1953 to the Dixie Classic and the scandal that ended it, the epic 1957 ACC Tournament Championship between Wake Forest and North Carolina, back when only 1 team could make the NCAA Tournament, South Carolina's departure from the league after being highly ticked at how things were going, the inclusion of Georgia Tech, and all the way up to 1988.

One of my uncles had it and I got to borrow it for a while. I was usually more interested in reading this than I was the school stuff.

Or the NCAA putting them on probation from 1976 to 1978.

Hmmmm. Well played people of Lexington. Well played.
The Lexington Herald-Leader and their primary UK sports reporter, Jerry Tipton (who has been there since the 80s), slam UK more than any other publication. You would think Tipton is a Louisville fan. I really don't know how he survives in Lexington without getting his tires slashed daily. Not sure how the newspaper survives either, as much as they slam the school/city they represent.

Few non-UK fans understands this dynamic. Most schools home town newspaper are pro that school. Tipton is a piece of shit who hates Kentucky. He takes personal pride in shots at the head coach. The Lexington Herald-Leader got UK investigated by the NCAA based on their lies.

I’m sensing a theme.
