Are you watching this game? We’re down 17 cause we can’t hit the broad side of a barn. We couldn’t drop the ping pong in the first bucket on the bozo show. ISU is giving us good looks.
Wrong- Fouls, turnovers and rebounds all close- Iowa State just made 4 more field goals so far...
We miss layups and wide open threes, and they nail them from 10 feet behind the three point line with ice in their veins.
We are shooting layups and they’re shooting threes, yet they’ve doubled us up at the ft line. They’re calling us for fouling jump shooters, but not giving us a whistle on the other end. Yes I’m biased, but the whistle is definitely against us. Which, hey it happens. But it’s frustrating when it happens when you can’t hit anything and the rims are already working against ya.And of course, you are unbiased right
Yeah, I don’t bitch about officiating often but it hasn’t been called evenly.
Well of course. Look who’s reffing. We always get a bad whistle when he gets our games. We should do like UK and ask that he never refs another of our games. I’ve a buddy who does a lot of gambling, but he always bets against us when he refs our games.
Kansas is a first round upset waiting to happen. Without dok or SDS they are very average unless they’re at Allen field house
It will depend on our draw. If we get jump shooting teams, we will lose early. If we hit jump shots we could go deep. I think we actually defend well. We get to the basket, and Lawson is deadly in the paint. Our weaknesses are passing...so many unforced turnovers. And of course shooting. Once in a while we have a game like today where we can’t hit wide open shots. When that happens we can get beat by any team in the field. Missing layups was new though....
When you sleepwalk through the first 30 minutes of play, don't expect to win the game on these types of stages.
Iowa State now 5-0 in Big 12 Championship games and 6-6 all-time in conference tournament play against Kansas (3-1 in championship games).
ISU has also won 4 of the last 6 Big 12 tourneys. With Kansas winning the others since 2013.......

Depleted KU teams all three times. Missing Embiid the first time, and 5-6 key players between the other two. But it is what it is.
Opposing teams don't beat Kansas. Kansas beats themselves or the refs beat them.

You’re confusing KU with UK.
The only outcome I can even remember blaming officiating for was the Nova tourney game in 16.
Officiating seemed very one-sided today (lot of ignored contact on one end and touch fouls on the other) but they lost because they couldn’t finish to save their lives.
We got f*cking beat tonight. That's all there is to it. You can't miss layups and FT's in bulk. You can't wait until you are down 15-17 points before trying to muster a huge comeback. KU dug way too deep of a whole and paid for it. I am proud of our guys for playing through to the Big 12 title game but ISU was better. Congrats to ISU on winning the Big 12 Tournament. It was well deserved.
Like I said, it is what it is, but say Zion got injured early on tonight and FSU won. Cool, I guess, but what’s it really prove?
This myth that KU gets all the calls is exactly that. They get some calls at home, as do all home teams. They’re actually middle of the pack in the B12 in overall foul disparity.
Was it at Kansas or Duke where the stat was that a player hadn't fouled out in a home game in years?.......
Probably Duke. They truly do have an insane foul disparity at home.
TT whooped us. KSU beat us. OU beat us. WVU beat us. Texas best us. ISU beat us in Ames. But tonight we win or at the least it goes to wire if we simply hit free throws, layups, or a normal % of our open threes.
For me it was the VCU game in ‘11. We couldn’t get into a rhythm because they were hacking us up and down the court and hanging off our guys every shot. Maybe the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen. I thought the Nova whistle was good until the end. I thought they all went their way st the end, but that’s the way it goes.
