Furthest I’ve been from home is the Ionian Sea, rounding the boot of Italy on the southeast side. It’s about 5,600 miles away.
I thought it would have been Budapest, but that’s only 5,229 miles away. Just goes to show how much fatter Earth is closer to the equator.

I like New Orleans. Funny enough, I live in Florida but never been to Daytona.
I’ve been to the Bahamas on a cruise before. One of the best vacations ever.

Been all over the world but the furthest away was Busan, South Korea. 10,841 miles from West Lafayette (where I lived at the time).
Live in Western KY. Farthest South/East I've been is Florida. Farthest West I've been is Missouri (lol). I'm not sure I've been up North really. I've been to Columbus Ohio and Indianapolis but they really aren't that far North. I need to go to New York and visit my cousin but just never have time.

Does DMT count? Pretty sure I was on the other side of the galaxy for awhile.
Amsterdam and Venice are both excellent choices. Both are great for like 3 nights, which means you could do each one in combo with somewhere else. Both very walkable too. Go in spring or fall.
Back in my Navy days I sailed around the world twice and along the way I got to see Perth Australia 3 times and Singapore twice. I been to many places but the wildest time/place I been to is Rio de Janeiro followed by the Philippines.

Perth, Australia, which is not far from the point in the Indian Ocean that is the opposite side to NYC on earth.
Born in Kentucky, lived in Iraq for a year, then Wuerzburg Germany for two years, followed by Afghanistan for a year. Now live in Illinois, basically did a lap around the globe.

Flew to Seattle, drove to the rest. All are straight line miles and not highway miles, though.

I live in Tennessee and the family went to India for son's wedding reception. Don't know the distance but 33 hours travel time from Nashville to Mangalore.
