Anyone catch that foul in the Duke/Clemson game?

I remember when Grayson tripped that kid from Elon. Front and center story on ESPN. Funny how Grayson's trip received way more coverage than this.

If Moore fell on his head, I mean that could have been career-ending. Fortunately, he did a good job at bracing for that fall.

We gonna compare Allen's repeated issues with one terrible play? Dude deserves a suspension and is lucky a fight didn't happen (seen fights started over way less on the court) but Allen was and still is a POS.

Tripping isn't dangerous?

He was a serial tripper who got a pass every time. I'm surprised no one ever laid him out on the court. It would have been satisfying to watch.

One was a lot more egregious - and it got a lot less attention. That's my point.

If you're concerned about repeat offenders, and certainly Allen was one of them, why is it that few people spoke about Adam Woodbury? He played in the same time period as Grayson Allen, and he had minimal backlash, at least on the national stage, for his multiple eye-gouging incidents. Of course, we all know, a Duke villain sells better.

At a certain point, allen should have just been booted from college hoops. After the 3rd time it should have just been “you’re done here. pack it up and go get a head start on your pro career, w/e. but you’re not playing another game in college ” ya know? ncaa is a sack less organization though.

It's not tantamount to undercutting somebody in the air, no.

Is three incidents considered a serial tripper? Perhaps it is. But, he played almost 4,000 minutes in his career. So, it's not like that's a common occurrence. I can concede, of course, that those were bitch moves. And he often plays like an a-hole on the court.

Not sure if you watched/remember the Duke games closely or not. But, Allen was CONSTANTLY being roughed up and baited by other teams. I want to say the 2017 home game against NC State was the worst. They were clearly wanting him to lash out against them, hoping he'd get T'd up or ejected.

No it didn't? It was a huge thing last night. Basically everyone involved with the sport tweeted about it and how big of a joke it was and how a suspension should happen.

Your whataboutism doesn't really matter. Allen deserved all the backlash he received and more. K's indefinite 1 game suspension was the cherry on top. He hasn't stopped being a POS in the league either

I believe the people bringing up Allen are the ones playing whataboutism. Really just to distract from a terrible and deliberate foul committed against a Duke player. Your feelings on Allen have nothing at all to do with Moore.

Awesome defense of apparently misunderstood Grayson Allen. Now do Hitler!

How do you define more attention? More message board rants from rival fans?

I mean....I got an immediate notification on my phone last night when it happened. 🤣

Not that bad really. In the old NBA this would not haven been called a foul.

It was the very first thing addressed on Sportscenter. ESPN had a 5-page long article on Grayson Allen the very next morning, talking about his trips and a-hole personality. It was the front story. It's not to say this incident didn't get attention, but it didn't get nearly as much as Grayson's trip against Elon.

It is always crazy seeing these guys fall hard from that high in the air. Its something I never have to worry about, thankfully.

lol when did I defend Grayson's trips? I said he made bitch moves and often played like an a-hole. I only said he got more coverage for his trips, which I believe is accurate.

Anyway, carry on gents.

Dirty foul. He was pissed wanted a foul on the other end so took out the Duke player while he was in the air. Don't believe anything he said about trying to slow down either.

Is Grayson Allen the dirtiest college player ever?

Any chance he was coached that way, or was he just accepted by coaching?

Not until he had done it repeatedly though so the comparison makes no sense. Surely you realize that.

I get what you're saying.

Some think there is no such thing as bad publicity.

If you take a step back I think Duke is getting a net positive from ESPN.

Wasn't that after several incidents?

No one's going to write an article about one hard foul. If it happened continually, there'd be an article.

Ahh. I forgot it was Henderson we were talking about last night ITT and I mixed up threads. tMB thread was full of people talking about Grayson Allen. It was my night at the bar last night, forgive me.
K still has time to make his preannounced farewell tour a success.

He's in the HOF for a reason.

Yea--crazy no duke players leveled that dude. If this was against Kansas we would have had players swinging chairs and coming off the top ropes to pummel that clemson dude.

Seriously, after the one stomp, did he really play dirty. I dont recall him being dirty, just an asshole. Might be the best/most successful college player in my lifetime. 4 FF's and 2 NC's. Amazing.

Well yea he's obviously very accomplished. And I'm not sure if he had any other antics on the court. He's the most hated college player of all time, probably. The stomp is worse than anything Allen has done, though.

Could even include Brad Davison of Wisconsin with his repeated "low blows" over the last couple years.

Jimbo, don't go beta on us all of the sudden. The Stomp was basically a love tap, barely touched the guy. And the guy he did it to sucked anyway so who cares. Allen tripping guys is way worse than anything Laettner ever did.

Don't be sore just cause he kicked Kentucky's ass in the best game I've ever seen.

Yeah that dude plays a sketch game have seen his work.

I think all teams have had their share of a holes!
Agreed, depends on the years but most aren't doing things physically to other player. Usually they are trash talkers that know how to get the other players going (fired up to play better for the own team, mentally out of sync for the opposition).
