ACC thread...

As I've already told the guy... when you're the program with the most wins to go along with 8 titles, I don't see where conference talk and how well they've fared in past NCAA tournaments is even relevant.

That's my point. Some of your homies are on that train especially with your history.

If the conference as a whole shit's the bed this week/next week IMO it will wipe away what you did from Nov-Jan.

No one is going to remember what you did in the regular season, they going to remember what you did in March.

Do you work for the ACC? This is some high level damage control. After a year where the conference flat out sucked, you dredge up this stuff? If saying that the SEC was the best conference this year is conference honking, what do you call what you're doing?
Do you work for the ACC? No After a year where the conference flat out sucked, you dredge up this stuff? Just pointing out the obvious. What do you call what you're doing? Pointing to the reason for the season. The end goal is winning the chip and not regular season conference strength. BTW, not once have I not congratulated the SEC conference for their strong season. Just pointing out that the most conference teams invited does not equate to the end goal. But you got it chief.

....yawwwwwwn. Lemme know when the dreadful ACC ever gets 14 teams in the dance.
Yeah, this is you NOT thumping conference strength rather than "We are UK, all time wins leader and 8 chips". Seems very relevant to you.

ACC sucked. SEC was awesome. However, there is little doubt over the last few years the ACC has pretty consistently done well when it mattered compared to other conferences. However, does that mean you should put more of their teams in? Eh, hard to argue that. Regular season results still matter. While I think year after year some of the crap the ACC takes is wrong, I don't care how the conference does outside of UNC.

The SEC has to have a good tournament overall this year to validate 14 teams getting in. I think they will though.

ACC is great, y'all have provided us all with some great basketball over the years and I thank you. Y'all are a little down this year and the SEC is at a historical high, but so what. Teams and records are fluid.

Haven't seen much chatter or opinions on this board of the Lucas, Wade, and Odom hires in the conference. Do these hires give much hope as far as helping the conference get back to not being awful?

As a Miami fan, I loved Larranaga but it was obvious after these last two seasons that he was done. Pretty crazy that things went so badly so quickly after back to back elite 8 & final 4 runs.

Honestly I can't say I know a ton about Lucas but from what I've heard it seems like he could fare well in this new NIL era. Young, energetic, and supposedly has a lot of connections. I'm definitely cautiously optimistic though with him having zero HC experience.

Maliq Brown cleared to play and likely plays some against Arizona tomorrow. I hope it's sparingly the first game and elite 8, then turn him loose.

Chris Beard took down Izzo last time they faced off in the big dance-anybody believing in Ole Miss Friday?

Glad for Maryland to be a part of this weekend again!!
MSU is a great rebounding team and that's Ole Miss's weakness. In fact Ole Miss is one of the worst teams in the country at it. I think MSU wins this game unless Ole Miss catches fire.

Excellent! He'd match up well with Awaka on Arizona and having the ability to switch 1-5 is huge vs teams like Alabama and BYU.

Duke fans are. I don't know any ACC fans.
Lol...there are "ACC fans" everywhere, just like there are "SEC fans" everywhere.

Look no further than this board where there are numerous fans of teams from the ACC pulling hard against any SEC schools. Just like there are plenty of fans of SEC schools pulling for the SEC to do well.

As I have stated numerous times, I couldn't care less how the SEC, or ACC, or Big 10, or whatever conference does in March. I care about UK. But I can still point out how the SEC has been one of the best conferences in history this year, and how the ACC is a midmajor conference and will likely be that until the conference inevitably dissolves.

Anti-SEC doesn't mean pro-ACC and it definitely doesn't mean pro-Duke. Please find me one non-Duke fan on here that is rooting for Duke to win it all. It's definitely not me.

Sure it is, haha. It's just an alternative version of conference honking.

And outside of this board, there a PLENTY of fans from ACC schools rooting for the ACC to do well and the SEC to suck, just like the opposite is true for fans of SEC schools.

Also, when did I say anything about anyone rooting for Duke in my post?

Why are you bringing up the SEC?

Really?

Because I was pointing out how there are SEC conference honkers, just like there are ACC conference honkers. Pretty self explanatory if you read my original response to your post.
I said I don't know any ACC fans and you went blabbering on about the SEC.

How dare I call you out for lying that you don't know any ACC fans. Not one person would believe that. Ever.

This board is full of them. Just like it is SEC fans. Outside of this board is full of them.

As for bringing up the SEC, I was taking a shot at SEC fans, just like I am ACC fans. Is that OK, or do I need your permission to do that to?

He surrounds himself with CAA fans. He's a straight up guy, I believe him.

I know not a single person that is an ACC fan. That doesn't mean that homos don't exist. It just means that I don't personally know them.

I am around mostly unc fans and they don't give a shit about the other ACC teams. The Duke fans I know, don't give a shit about other ACC teams. I get that it is hard for the "it just means more" crowd to understand because you guys are so used to riding each other's..... yeah. But conference pride just isn't that exciting for non SEC or B1G fans. A Tennessee fan (SEC) started the ACC thread for shit's sake.

Well of course I or you don't personally know them. But we know plenty as posters on this site alone. And we interact with them on this very board. So in my opinion, it is a bit disingenuous to say you "know not a single person that is an ACC fan."

Second, if conference pride wasn't as "exciting" for ACC fans, you all wouldn't be constantly complaining about fans from other conferences crapping all over the ACC or bumping up their conferences. But you guys do. Y'all could ignore the threads or posts, but you don't, cuz y'all clearly care.

Third, who cares if a UT fan started a thread about the ACC? Is that improper etiquette on a national college basketball forum? Do you comment in non-ACC threads? Who cares dude...imagine if posters could only start threads about their team or conference. Would be pretty boring, if you ask me.

Anyways, I will be rooting for AZ tonight, but good luck nonetheless!

You know Duke is in the ACC, right? So if you accuse us of rooting for the ACC and Duke is the only ACC team left, anyone who understands reasoning can infer that you implied we’re rooting for Duke

I only respond to the whining about Duke not playing against tougher competition.

I wasn't being critical about the Tennessee fan starting the ACC thread. I was using that fact as an example of how fans of ACC teams really don't care about the conference outside of their own program.
