2023-24 Pick'Em, Final Standings!!

Wow, WeAreDePaul got caught cheating. Jeez, I thought he was just a Depaul and LSU fan, turns out, he’s also a KU fan… is he even actually a HE?
You think you know people.

Rumor has it, his last name is Calipari. I didn't believe it at first, but it's starting to make sense.

If it was just for one game where you had Kentucky and Alabama, and I didn't see it until after the fact, I would assume it was just a mistake. And I think I could allow that. But, not for all 3 games.

Nonetheless, there is no rule against it and these guys are for it.

Hey uhhh… dearest Della, how are you feeling about that 4? 😜

Congrats to @GE Nole on his perfect week, only days after resigning, "This is a hard week!" I really think all 6 of those games, on paper at least, were games that got you second-guessing yourself. Hopefully we'll have similar games this week.

I'm going to drop the lowest weekly totals soon, hopefully within the next week. So, that might cause a slight shift in point totals. And then we'll have a double-points week the last week of the regular season. There's still time to close that gap.

Auburn is 0-4 against top 50 teams on the road (also lost to App State). Whereas Tennessee has beaten Wisconsin and Kentucky on the road. Don't think too many people are picking Auburn to win on the road. Tennessee/Alabama offers a lot more potential for variation in picks, which is what I'd like to see.

It's happened before, but it's very rare I'm going to feature the same team twice in the same week. Also, Saint Mary's, Gonzaga, New Mexico, and Boise State are all currently projected to make the NCAA Tournament.

devilz, it's your contest and I appreciate the time and effort you put into it. I mean that with all my heart. I just think 5-6 kenpom teams squaring off is a bigger deal than seeing Wake back to back or bubble teams.

You might say, "della is just biased" and if you did say that you'd be right, but c'mon.

it's not about what are the best games of the week, it's about what are the toughest games to predict. Look, none of us like the job @dukedevilz has done this year with the Pick em, but he's our leader so we need to stick by and support him even in a year like this where he's clearly lost the plot.

If I didn't have the Tennessee/Alabama game already, I likely would have included it.

Also, Wake is in the top 25 for KenPom and the Net. And they'd be ranked higher if they had Efton Reid for the first month of the season.

Why are you doing this?

Why are you doing this?

I've always done this. And it's to encourage those who might miss a week, or had a horrible week, to not lose hope and stay in the Pick'Em contest.

And yes, there have been reminders throughout the season.

Each poster can have their lowest weekly total waived from their cumulative score.

for those that are lagging behind on the leaderboard, keep in mind that I'll drop your lowest score at some point in February.

We'll have another double-points week in February and at some point next month I'll also drop everyone's lowest weekly total. Still plenty of time to catch up!

I'm going to drop the lowest weekly totals soon, hopefully within the next week. So, that might cause a slight shift in point totals.

It is having the opposite effect. I want my 7 pts back.

Don't under estimate how difficult it is to pick games during the conference tournament week. Here were the scores in 2022. Picking is a lot harder when you can't naturally default to the home team. 8/13 scores had 4 points or less. If you happened to go 0 for 6 in the games, guess what? You'd get all 7 points back because your new lowest weekly total would be 0.

Is this revenge for last years NCAA tourney? If so, well played.

This is my 6th year of organizing a Pick'Em contest. And I've had this rule every year.
but is this the first season we had a broad competing? For diversity and @della 's sake maybe we can compromise and along with cutting out our worst week we also have a week where we sit around and talk about our feelings and then share things on Pinterest?
