1, 2, and 3 seeds that won’t make the Sweet 16?

Same thing with Colorado.

Losing to Cal and Washington...

GTown is a different animal...They are playing Hoya basketball right now. Just beat the living shit out of teams.

Type of physicality I don't see from the PAC no matter what Cronin wants to believe.

His UCLA teams aren't anywhere close to his Cincinnati ones

Chalk did pretty well in 2019. No reason why it couldn't happen again.

I like Alabama a lot. I think they actually have a very favorable region. Could easily make the Final Four. However, a potential showdown with UConn could be intriguing. UConn is 11-3 with James Bouknight, who I think would be an easy All-American choice if not for injuries - and they're 4-4 without him. Two of the three losses with Bouknight were by a single possession. I'm strongly considering UConn as a potential Sweet 16 team. If you go back to the past month in BartTorvik, UConn is the #4 team in his ratings.
Yeah that looks like an incredibly tough matchup for us, assuming we don’t shit the bed against Iona. If we want to get by UConn and Texas, assuming those were the two, I think we would really need a hot 3 shooting night in at least one of them. Our defense is excellent, and we’ve been getting wins against good teams in games where the 3 wasn’t falling, but I just don’t see us winning both of those the way we did against UT and LSU, scraping by not shooting particularly well in either one. I think we have a tough road to the final four as far as number of likely high quality opponents, but there’s not the Gonzaga or Baylor in the region where I would go in thinking ok we have to shoot great and probably have them not play their best as well to have a decent chance.

Yeah......

You finished the regular season by losing to ND.

Florida St has players and a solid program. But I wouldn't be surprised if they lose in.rhe first round.
On the otherhand it wouldn't surprised me if Florida St plays in the E8.

Inconsistent...
You don't know what you are going to get with them.

Yes, we lost to ND on the road.

Did you read what I wrote? We aren’t inconsistent. We were very consistent this season. Nearly unbeatable in Tallahassee and barely above average (when looking at the whole season) away from Tallahassee.

Not that I would agree with it, but knowing this board ... surprised more people aren't shitting on 2-seed Iowa here. :p

(FTR, I have them in the Elite Eight ... just can't decide if I think they beat the Zags or not.)

So thinking Florida State will have success elsewhere would be false.
So they could be upset in the first round
Aren't playing in Tallahassee

My point in the beginning.
We could see UNCG vs Georgetown playing for a S16.

That East Bracket can really turn to shit quick

I didn’t disagree about them losing early. I don’t have them with a deep run.

All I said was they aren’t inconsistent.

High and low are subjectives terms.

But most 4s and 5s historically are very inconsistent.

Reason why you see a lot of 5s get knocked out.
The seeding is a crapshoot this year. No way in Hell should Florida be a 7. Shoot Vtec (10 seed) has less losses than the 2 seed Ohio St. This is a weird year and I don’t think the seeding will hold up as well as other years.

?
Did you read my point. FSU could go out in the first round or play in Elite 8.
Difficult to pin down.

Even if Michigan, Alabama and Texas loses....

Could have a double digit seed make the Final 4

Michigan State?

To say FSU would benefit may not be all way true.
Fsu will definitely not go out in the first round lol.

You can thank Kentucky....

UNC, Louisville and entire SEC

Especially Arkansas. They did Arkansas dirty

Honestly I thought Fl should have been a 9-10 at best. Arky...ehh I’m not sold on them either. My point is Arky vs Texas Tech is a coin flip at best. Shoot man how good is Winthrop? Who the F knows?

WVU wont make it. Will likely get beat by SDSU's senior laden team. As many experts have said, we probably have the best point guard/center combo in the nation but we don't have the heart and toughness on defense. My only hope is that the 8 day rest will help McBride's toe injury and Culver with his sickness/back issues enough to make a difference.

I’m not gonna pick FSU to lose to UNC-G, but it’s certainly possible. If we allow Isaiah Miller to turn us over 25 times, we could lose.

That said, every single 3, 4, 5, and 6 seed in the tourney has the ability to lose in the first round. Not sure why Sheriff thinks he’s making some big point by saying “Team X could lose in the first round.”

Sheriff is our Nostradamus. Throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks.

FSU got the draw I was hoping that UVA would get. I don't hate UVA's first two games, although I think we could easily lose to any of those teams. But I was pretty bummed we got Gonzaga again instead of one of the other #1 seeds. I wonder what it would have looked like had we not had to forfeit the ACC tourney.

It was insane to me that they put every marquee team Gonzaga beat OOC in their quadrant besides wvu.

sheriffs thinks nothing random ever happens in March and coaching doesn’t matter 😂

So not sure how u can understand why he thinks anything he thinks.

Yea I always thought they tried to avoid rematches which is why they spread out teams from the same conf usually.

Not sure if that helps or hurts the zags.

I think the spreading out of teams from the same conference is all about the money. Due to the way the units for advancing are set up, you'd have a lot of pissed off conference offices if their best two teams are in the same region and would have to other outcome other than to bounce one another in their first round. Theoretically, a conference with 4 bids should have the potential to have their best 4 teams meet in the final 4. When the ACC had 5 out of 8 Elite eight teams, it made a bundle for the conference.

Hard for me to see WV osing in the first round.
The rest of them is based on percentages.

Florida State does have a high percentage

Is Shaka on course for a lesson from Tom Izzo?

And the natural follow-up question is, of course, would Izzo bill him for it?

Expecting to play them...

But they already gave Texas a lesson 2 years ago.
This time Texas has the older guards. Texas was up by double digits on their Final 4 team.
Winston and their guards took over the game.

Will be an absolute war if they play.

Yeah to have Florida as the same seed as UConn is crazy. We have a probable matchup with UConn in the second round, and there are are some 4-5 seeds I’d rather face, and obviously would rather face UF. I know they don’t match up conference teams that early, just making a point.

Like how is UF seeded higher than OU, Mizzou, UNC, LSU, Gt? Makes zero sense to me.

All I know is FSU has the tools to go deep. Size, athleticism, depth, experience...
Sure as I’ve said before no team is unbeatable, but FSU has as good a chance as any. I’m struggling with my FSU v Texas pick in my bracket. That would be one hell of an E8 matchup.

Yeah, I really want to see it happen. Would be a game that should see constant end to end action
