Good lord. Going to be a brutal big 12.

Thing is, the bottom half sucks except Oklahoma State who is 6-0 and should be ranked.

KState, Iowa State, OU and TCU are anywhere from very bad to average at best.

Hi sheriff. Thought you guys had nova beat.

They need more time.
Greg Brown has to establish himself as a consistent scorer on all three levels
Andrew Jones has to raise his level to match Ramey and Coleman.
Kai Jones has to continue to develop.

With how they started you expect them to finish well in the season.
Usually they are inconsistent.

They could still be but haven't seen it yet.

Kansas probably will be their toughest test to end the season.
You expect Jalen Wilson, Bryce Thompson and Mccormick to get better.

Marcus Garrett is the best on ball defender in college basketball.

Fran Fraschilla thinks Miles Mcbride is right up there with him as the best overall defending guard in the nation.

WVU gets in trouble with switches and teams forcing you to guard 1-5.

That is where the difference between KU and WVU.
But even Kansas isn't where they were last year. Their issue can be at the 5 as well.

Texas has this issue with Jericho Sims when he is on the floor. Reason why I like Kai Jones as the big when Texas plays the lineup.

Or with Gabe at WVU. He is probably your most versatile defensive player.

Gabe is definitely the most versatile. He guards 1 through 5 at times.

I'm loving our smaller lineups lately with not having Culver and Oscar on the floor at the same time. I think Huggins finally realized that won't always work.

Miles McBride is a baller.

Your two bigs are men among boys. Wish we had them over ours and we’d hang a banner.

Would have no problem agreeing with you.

But the quality of wins thus far speak for themselves.

Really? Kansas’ win over Creighton is a very good win. And the wins over Illinois and Indiana by Baylor and Texas are both nice as well. But beyond that...what else is there? Texas Tech has played one real team and lost. UT lost to the best team they played, at home. And West Virginia has a couple okay wins but are any of them over a Tourney team?

That’s fair to challenge it and KU and WVU both losing to zags wasn’t great. I wish baylor got their shot as I think they’d win.

Here’s a Sample tho:

KU over Kentucky (UK will get better) and Creighton

Baylor over Illinois (dirty shame on zags game)

WVU over Richmond and Georgetown (which will end up being a good one)

Texas over UNC and Indiana

Tech still needs one

6-0 Pokes (should be ranked) over Marquette and WSU.... Marquette who will beat creighton here tonight and already beat Wisconsin

Kentucky may or may not get better. But right now, beating that team is meaningless. Same for Richmond and same for Georgetown.

Hey that’s fair. Big 12 still has big wins as anyone. Big 10 got some nice wins over your league too and prob has more big wins than us. ACC is down this year.

Where have I mentioned the ACC?

I questioned whether some of the teams (WVA, Texas Tech, Texas) were overrated. Someone mentioned “big wins speaking for themselves.” I’m just not seeing a whole bunch of big wins.

More than most.

Can you find a lot of games against quality competition at this stage of the basketball season.

Teams are based on the 4-7 games we have played
Whatever happens is going to benefit the Big 12 because if they do lose it will be in conference
SEC has a chance to change that.
But...
Big 12 could go maybe 9-1 in that. We will give them K State

So long story short Baylor beat Illinois. I guess the Texas wins are impressive atm as well but we don’t really know how good unc and IU will be.

The big 12 is obv a great conf this year but 5-6 games in I wouldn’t be spouting off about all the ranked teams esp when a few of em haven’t exactly played a gauntlet.

Your right though, this early in no one has really played a super tough gauntlet, well except U.K. of course.

SOS is #2 as a league. My comment wasn’t baseless.

We are in luck b/c kansas plays those three teams in the next three games. We are going to find out just how tough we are...early in the season.

Lot of BB to be played. And Creighton was beaten by unranked Marquette last night. Just saying. Some teams have only played 2-3 games.

What does a hard schedule have to do with lots of great wins? Any team can go out and lose go Gonzaga or Villanova. That doesn’t make you a good team.

Yes but the combination of several good wins and an SOS that high = Conf NET or RPI 1 and hence shows good wins baked in. Duke couldn’t beat illinois. Baylor smacked them. Prob our #4 Texas beat your UNC. Our #6 team okla state beat Marquette who now has Wisconsin and Creighton wins. Prob will be ranked now.

I’m splitting hairs as a lot to flush out still. We will see how it comes out in the wash. I do wish baylor and zags played bc that would silence a lot of this.

May not have the “best wins” overall but who really does? Big 12 is right there I know that. Big 10 has all those ACC wins but is the ACC any good this year? All this will flush out soon. We will know when the conference NET comes out.

The top half of the Big XII is 5-4 against KenPom top 50 teams.

Baylor: W- Illinois
Texas: W- Indiana, North Carolina; L- Villanova
West Virginia: L- Gonzaga
Texas Tech: L- Houston
Kansas: W- Creighton, Kentucky; L- Gonzaga

Of course the Big XII is still a very, very good league. All of those losses came against top 10 teams. However, we can also accurately say they don't have a single win over a top 10 team. They're better than the ACC, and they'll be competing with the Big Ten for the best conference. But, they're not head and shoulders above the rest of college basketball, like some would presume.

Arguing anything about the RPI is pointless. It’s a worthless system, even more so when there’s only been 3-4 games played.

But I don’t know why you keep bringing the ACC into this? Where did I mention anything about the ACC being better? Heck, I didn’t include UT’s win over UNC for a reason. We don’t know if UNC is any good yet.
