Which team with high expectations do you see falling on their face?

Kentucky, Duke, Texas, or Baylor. Duke wasn’t great last year and is relying on Freshman, UK has underperformed recently and is relying on transfers, Baylor loses what made them run, and Texas is a ton of transfers. All of these teams could be great but also could bust.

I know UCLA had a great run, but they were a pretty average team for much of last year. I think they’ll be good, but I’d be pretty surprised if they finish top 10. Also think Baylor is a candidate.
Yeah, while I obviously think UCLA will be good, anything can happen in the Tournament. UCLA isn’t even in the actual First Round without an epic choke job from MSU, and in that timeline they’re not even ranked right now.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I don’t think they’ll be good - maybe even top 10 good - but it’s just hard to judge off of a Tourney run that, while very impressive, seemed to come out of nowhere. I think they might end up closer to #10-15, especially with the potential for rankings-killing upsets in the Pac-12.

My pick----UCLA. Just felt they got it going(NCAAT).

I think UCLA is going back to the Final Four. They are my pick to win the title actually. They add a 5 star FR and a solid big man transfer to an experienced roster that made the Final Four last year. They got an annoying midget PG and 4-6 guys that go 6-7 to 6-9 with pretty solid skillsets. They can shoot and defend. They also can say they know how to advance in the NCAAs. I could see them slow walk out of the gate but get hot late in the year. They also play great defense against FT shooters.

I apologize to the one UCLA poster that posts here three times a year in advance for the jinx.

I don't know if any of the T10 "face plant" but I question how Baylor backs up last year losing so much playing in a super tough league.

Admit I don't follow this stuff like I used to, even though I post daily.

I think Purdue is being ranked based on potential. Ivey didn't put up big numbers last year. Edey is decent based on size. I think they be overranked.

I'd agree with Baylor , nova, purdue

Interesting results. I'm wondering if this is a result of Kentucky failing to live up to preseason expectations lately, or if people legit look at our roster as not top ten good. I have to think its more the first, even though we do have some weaknesses in the middle.

Everything in my body wants to click Baylor, even tho I believe they'll be a tourney team and a fun team all season..

I do believe in UCLA, just unsure about how they'll respond with a massive target..

I do believe in Duke, I'm just not in love with their guards yet..

I do believe in Purdue, love them, but Ivey has to keep that leap..

I do believe Kentucky will be incredibly improved, but damn they burned me last season..

I'm not sure I believe in Nova, outside of Wright, but I'm a salty bitch..

I do believe in Gonzaga, but I liked their backcourt better last season..

I do believe Texas looks fun af, but Horns Down Bltches..

Look at Ivey's numbers once he became a starter. Also check out his U19 performance. Kid is really good. Probably gone after this year. I went to the fan day experience for the team and from what I saw they deserve the hype they've been getting.

I chose Baylor simply for the fact that they lost 4 starters from that team. I don't know if there is anyone in that group that will "fall on their face" but there are a few that could not reach the hype their given with so many new pieces on them. It will depend on how they mesh.

Villanova would have been my next choice.

i picked ucla. i’ve seen enough to confidently i say i was wrong. so far it’s been michigan by far. lot of season left. kentucky hasn’t played another team with a pulse since Duke so i still don’t know what to expect from them.

Everyone else has looked pretty solid. I think gonzaga was a tad overrated. But they did wax ucla and texas. They’re just not as good as last season.

Jury still out on texas as well.

Michigan will underwhelm the most (already have), and I think Texas and UCLA will also underwhelm when it's all said and done. Not sure how UM only has 4 votes.

The obvious choice was UK. They were historical bad last year and though they are completely different there is nothing to suggest that they warranted a top 10 ranking. They must be pretty fragile because they cancelled what would have been considered a strong opponent and their early season cupcakes are the weakest of the weak.

Not really slamming UK fans here cause I know you're not very happy about it either.

If you are a fan of a T10 team you are probably happy nobody stands out. If you are a fan of a team 10-25 you may feel like you got a shot this year it's just up for grabs.

lol I voted for Kentucky as well.

Our schedule has been an absolute disgrace so far and the fans are clearly sick of it.

I'm torn on this, I don't have season tickets, but I would rather play nobodies in November than December.

I don't think you're limited to an either or. You could play some good opponents in both months.

Our OOC schedule will balance out. It's the home games. We don't play tough opponents at home which should give us an advantage but instead we play them away from home.
