UK fans....

THR is a perfect representation of how cultish and insecure and insulated UNC fans have been since the scandal. I got banned too, never even posted there. IC is exactly the same. Carolina forums have long been the least open to outsiders. Even on this forum I think UNC fans “stick together” in a way no other fan base does.

I find that hard to believe.

Laughing They've been all over Duke's nuts lately.

I find it hard to believe that any board is worse to outsiders than rupps rafters. I mean literally every auburn fan that wanted to discuss basketball got banned from there. A good amount just viewed the board and didn’t even post

See, I’ve found Rafters to be pretty loose, in terms of moderation... nearly anything goes over there, for the most part.

Now, the members themselves? Generally not friendly towards outsiders:)

Same I was banned before even posting over there. Total bullshit
Both of the times that I was banned on THR were after posts that I made. The first time I got banned for simply disagreeing with a post and I wasn’t even rude or disrespectful in my post but the second time that I got banned I knew I was likely going to get banned and I had an IDGAF mentally when I posted on there and I was fully expecting to get banned after I posted. A large majority of posters from the Duke board have been banned from THR without ever having posted on THR.

No no, I was wrong, no problem with him calling me on that. I honestly didn’t remember.

Btw, here are my posts that got me banned. I don’t think they were particularly trollish.

Post 1:

How can anyone say the mens basketball team wasn't involved, when UNCs own report said they were? There were bunches of enrollments in fishy classes under Dean, and under Roy, and under the rest... almost the entire 2005 team was AFAM majors... heck, a major UNC star straight up SAID that the entire team cheated, didn't he? The NCAA actually said that men's basketball was involved.

Post 2:

Oh no, don't get me wrong, McCants is a looney bin. But he provided his transcripts, and they showed he went from a failing student to a straight A student overnight. I suppose he could have been lying about everyone else, but his own involvement seems... well, how else would that have happened, and why would he lie if it was really just hard work? And it is possible that he was the only one cheating...? But I don't think listening to a guy who was admitting he cheated, showed his own transcripts that seem to support it, and who then went on to say others were cheating (especially when you look at the degrees they got, as mentioned below) qualifies someone for a "loon." It seems rather reasonable.

The NCAA directly mentioned the men's basketball team, didn't they? From ESPN...

http://espn.go.com/espn/print?id=13012146

That allowed counselors to use the irregular courses to help keep at-risk athletes eligible, "particularly in the sports of football, men's basketball and women's basketball"...

The quote is directly from the NCAA.

And just look at the media guide for the basketball team re: degrees. Or the report that UNC itself wanted. Seven guys from 2005 were AFAM majors. From Fox Sports...

http://www.foxsports.com/college-fo...al-wainstein-report-investigation-ncaa-102214

For example, 10 of the 15 members of Roy Williams’ 2005 national title team were AFAM majors.

Knowing that it was the majority of the meaningful players (i.e. not Blue Steel) who were AFAM majors... well, I don't know what else to say about that...?

I just think that anyone who thinks that basketball wasn't involved is sort of ignoring UNC's own findings. Why would UNC lie about UNC? This isn't my opinion or my statements... I'm just copy and pasting from UNC findings, and stuff from UNC players.

Post 3:

I'm sorry, I don't get the reference...?

You don’t think you should’ve been banned when your only post were arguing about the AFAM Scandal?
Could a 1st time poster go to D1 & talk about lance Thomas? Corey Maggette? The house Zion’s parents live in?
You were trolling when the sole purpose was to argue about AFAM.

The mods on RR are about the most liberal of not banning folks than any board that I have ever read. I doubt that they banned Auburn fans across the board. That is not their modius operandi.

Nope. I visit the North Carolina, Duke, Indiana and Florida boards on a regular basis. I rarely post because all have a quick trigger. I was permanently banned on the Florida "NuttinButNet" board, so I basically read without posting.

In fact I don't read Rupps Rafters often because it is too massive and crazy. I am a premium member and rarely read House of Blue.

Weird. I only post on this one and the Duke board but I read Duke, UNC, UL, KU, UK all the time. Only one board has banned me, that's RR. Which is no biggie, is what it is.

Like your home board is the voice of reason. All home boards are terrible so to nit pick and say which one is the worst is silly.

They were trollish but trying to force your opinion on your rivals home board will get you canned every time. Again they knew the particulars of the scandal and you didn’t. But you were right about McCants, dude is crazy.

As long as you're not a fan of a blueblood program, or a near-blueblood program, or a team that's beaten Kentucky in the last couple decades, and as long as you're not attempting to post within 5 weeks of a rough Kentucky loss....they're pretty lenient frankly.

It's good to you've moved past the OP's stage. You complained for a long while.

Exactly.Winking

Nope. I am usually pretty careful about what I say, and if someone takes something I say and then draws an illogical conclusion that what I said doesn’t support, I’ll say so. Once in a blue moon I’ll say something leading. But for the most part, coy isn’t in my nature; I am far too direct.

Okay.

I have seen a bunch of shit on RR that if I were a mod I would ban. However, I will not say you are making a misstatement because I don't go on RR often enough to even know.

Do you ever post on the UNC, UL & KU boards?

Hell, you don't even have to log on to read.

Seriously why the mass blacklisting of Auburn fans on Rupps Rafters? It’s a free open board that has the most activity for basketball in the SEC. I can understand ones that were over the top flaming but most auburn fans were not doing that at all. I never even posted there myself and I got banned. Just enjoyed reading threads over there and now I can’t even do that.
It probably has to do with some troll (but funny) threads last season by some Auburn college kids just having fun (ie “Does AU have the most handsome team in the NCAA?, Best team socks”). Some of the RR posters were unable to enjoy the entertainment and it got chippy.

I LOVED it, and even congratulated them on it.

So tell your mods to give us access back. Kentucky fans always complain about the rest of the SEC not caring about basketball but then when he try to participate in the conversation you all silence us

I don’t think what those posters did was trying to participate in CBB. I think it was more just entertainment purposes, and unfortunately your handle attached you to them. I don’t know the first thing about getting ahold of the mods there. I know @Steelers2012 is a mod for his similar home board. Maybe he has some suggestions on how to get ahold of them privately/reinstate?

What's up? Why'd you tag me?

I know you had asked me a while back if I knew any of the mods on RR for a possible reinstatement. I thought maybe Steelers could provide some help since he mods on a similar board. Maybe watch for his response. I’m of no help on the situation.
