Heck, look at Aberdeen, Florida just won a title, he was slated to be a starter in 25/26, he went where the money was better.

Money's a huge driving force, but they usually have a short list of schools before money enters the equation.

Recent success usually indicates a good coach and plenty of exposure. Recruits care about that. And most want a chance to win at the highest level. You almost always see a recruiting surge after teams win a title or go to the F4.

Pre NIL, no doubt. Nowadays, it's all about who can pay the most.

As Jeff pointed out, Aberdeen jumped ship because of NIL. And he just won a natty at UF. Recent success does not matter anymore. I wish it was different, but this is the current model.

FFs and championships are great for fanbases to argue about, but generally speaking, players don't care about that stuff anymore.

Yeah, but with most of these kids, money is going to be the biggest reason. Travis Perry grew up a UK fan, but he just transferred to Ole Miss. He got a lot more money.
If a kid can get paid top dollar AND play for a school that moves the needle, they'll jump, but I don't know too many kids these days that are going to take less money to go to a certain school.
