TV/video games/movies off season thread

Network but anyone watching Suits LA?

Have to say the new lead is so much like Harvey and their conversations are similar to the original.

Assuming a series and a drama (Rehearsal)? Which platform?
reality hbo

Really want to like Last of Us. First season was solid, but think I'm out. Mainly because I can't stand the lead girl. The new one isn't much better. Would never condone hitting a woman, but they both have very punchable faces.
Honestly don't understand all the hate she's getting. I don't mind her character outside of the annoying teenage bs.

I loved Suits so I’m watching. It started out a bit rough but I’m liking it enough to keep watching.

There were no spoilers in my post. And if you played the video game you literally can't be spoiled.
I know, I know. Dumb comment by me. I guess I was just talking about what ep I would happen in, but I’m assuming it’s pretty obvious that it’s coming if you played the game. I’m still mad the game went that route, but I understand why they did it.

It's almost shot for shot the same and they actually made it make more sense than in the game.

Just binged the final season of You. I liked it. The series overall is very good but earlier seasons were better imo

Warfare wasn't a fun movie.

"Told by those that were there".

No character development, no plot, just a reenactment.

Messed up.

Anyone playing Expedition 33?

Holy hell this is the best game I've played since Elden Ring. It's beautiful and might have the best soundtrack in gaming history.

I'm about halfway through I think and its been masterful.

It's a Turn-based RPG like Final Fantasy but even if you don't care for turn based you might want to give it a try. Probably GOTY front runner.

Looks amazing but I just can't get myself to enjoy turn based.

I love turn based games but I hate QTE events which that seemingly has? I'll probably give it a try eventually.

It's turned based, but you have to parry and dodge enemies every turn. So, its not like your typical TBRPG. In fact, learning to parry attacks is essential to win at this game. So, there is some skill needed.

But, even with that, its worth it for the story and the soundtrack. Great experience that I highly recommend.

I wouldn't give Balder Gate a try so why would I give Expedition a try? Turn base is gay.

Baldurs Gate might be the best rpg of all time, never even heard of expedition 33 but I may have to give it a shot.

First 3 episodes of S2 of Poker Face are out on Peacock. Guest start list for S2 is insane

Pretty sure they're making a new Ninja Gaiden and it comes out on gamepass when it releases.

I'm waiting for the new Doom game to drop next week.
Doom is getting all sorts of hype. Review embargo lifts tomorrow, a week before the game releases. Always a good sign when the embargo lifts that early.

Hearing that they totally changed tghe game and slowed it down. No longer run and gun. Also got rid of the platforming/jumping. That suits me so much more than than the faster paced style.

Glad to hear they took the platforming stuff out. Wasn't a fan of it in the last game.

To each their own. This one just happens to be top tier no matter the genre.

Well I started it yesterday evening to see what the hype was about. I can see why it's highly acclaimed, but I still just find turn based very boring. The dodging and parrying makes it a little better. I'll probably end up finishing the game, but it will take awhile. Other games will take priority.

@Necessary Roughness the more I play it the better it gets.

Going to buy the Switch 2 b/c I've been ignoring them for years. Grew up Commodore 64/Atari 2600 and NES player and I've switched to other brands.

I know I have a lot of catching up to do, starting with Zelda, from the recommendation of our good friend @WeAreDePaul

I had N64, and Wii. Skippped the others. Until now.

You won't regret it even if all you do is play the following 3 games:
Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Super Mario Odyssey

Don't skip Breath of the Wild. Play it first and then move on to Tears of the Kingdom. BOTW is still amazing and well worth it even though TOTK is better. They are both top 10 games of all time IMO.

So start with the one that came out first. There's no chronological order of a story? Some Marvel movies are best watched that way.

definitely start with the one that came out first. There is a story that weaves through both. And regardless, the game play evolves so you want to start with the first one.
