Looks like Jones will return to Duke. First time a starting PG has returned in years. Will be an interesting team next year... lacking the star power of Zion or RJ, but maybe having more balance.

He needed to go while the iron was hot. He will get recruited over eventually. Rj Hampton is looking at duke but I’m sure k will just sell him being a sg. It helps you having a familiar face back, but for Jones personally, he would of gotten that guaranteed first round cash.

Hampton hasn't even reclassified yet, dipshit.

He learned to shoot yet?

I would be happy if I were a duke fan to have him return, but he’s turning down a 2nd round pick and that’s on name and school. If he went to St John he wouldn’t even be in the draft conversation.

Less star talent and more balance will be a theme next year in all of college basketball. Maybe it’s part of a weaker 2019 class.

I am sure K can pay some other recruits to show up.

Elite college defender. His closest player comp on kenpom is his brother, which is cute

He was barely showing up in the second round on some draft boards. He has plenty to work on. Having another year to work (esp with K) is not a bad thing, and staying at Duke, as a kid who has dreamed of being at Duke since he was little, is great. Only in today’s day and age would anybody see a kid who is barely showing up in the second round and who has some obvious areas to work on coming back to school as a negative.

And Hampton was only reclassifying if Jones was gone, as far as Duke goes.

I saw mocks with Jones in the top 20. Talk about unwarranted hype.

I’m sorry, I seem to miss your point. Are you saying he wouldn’t of been a guaranteed first round guy this year? Sure he can move up, but he also takes the chance of getting hurt. I think he would of went no later than 20 this year.

just like Hagans, neither are ready for the NBA

BTW Duke should have a better balanced team next year

You think teams are lining up for a defensive player? His stock is declining. He’s shown he can’t shoot and toward the end of the season teams weren’t even guarding him, literally begging him to shoot the ball. I don’t think he’s an elite disturber either.

Jones is an elite defender at the college level. You’re not shutting down nba pg’s night in and out, they’re too good for that. It’s smart for him to return because he knows espn will pump him up at duke and he won’t get that in the g league.

He’s clocked in as grammar police today. Everyone watch yore punctuation

It’d be a mistake for him to go. He’s not nearly the player his brother was and he’s not exactly lighting the NBA world on fire. PG’s need to be able to shoot at least a little bit in the NBA.

What team are you a GM for? If so, why would you draft a one dimensional pg in the 1st round

Lay off the pipe, he wasn't guaranteed to go in the 1st Round by any means. He can seriously improve his stock by becoming at least a 35-36% 3 point shooter. Given that he's a good FT shooter, that should be very attainable next year.

Hagans should come back too.

Hagans must have dreams of playing in the gleague as he would have zero business going pro. I just think jones was instrumental with duke this yr. I get that he wasn’t an offensive juggernaut, but most drafts had him in the first round. I was by no means trying to shit on the kid like some that posted before me seem to insinuate. I just thought he would do what his brother did and become a one and done, although I think it was in the best interest for his brother to of came back rather than leave.

His brother went out a winner.

Dang, poor Boogie. I think it is the right decision for him. He just wasn't very good offensively a lot of the time. If he can improve there it will help him greatly.

As a UNC fan, don't really care. Duke will always have good players and they could do much better than him.

Poor Boogie? Why is that?

Why poor Boogie?

Feel like he thought he would be getting prime minutes next year at Duke over UNC since he thought Cole was coming to UNC and Tre was leaving Duke. Maybe he still will as a SG, though he obviously wants the ball in his hand.

So you know the PT breakdown already.

It worked out with Quinn and Tyus.

Boogie was probably lied to by K.

I don’t think Boogie can play SG as a freshman like Cook could as a senior. Maybe so though. I like him as a prospect for sure.

As far as I have been led to believe, Duke was actively searching for a PG because Ellis is considered a combo guard. I think him being Duke's PG was a fallback plan. I don't see how Jones returning has any effect on their plans for Ellis.

Maybe so. I've always heard he is listed as a combo but prefers to play point. But yes, if he is going to play the 2 I assume he will be splitting minutes with that Irish dude unless you land someone else.

Kid seems like a baller. He will get his. If it effects anyone it will be AOC.

Sign Matthew Hurt and let's call this off-season a wrap. The complexion of this team will be incredibly different with multiple legitimate shooters on the court at the same time.

Rumor has it there might be one more after Hurt.
